((A/N: AARGGGHHHH! I haven't written anything in soooo long! D: I'm so so sorry to those who are bothered! This is something really short and rubbish I wrote for Kyoya's birthday AGES ago XD But it's something!))
"See you tomorrow!", came the last words from Haruhi as she left for the day. The Host Club that now only held two of it's hosts was filled only minutes ago by flocks of excited, chattering girls. They'd had a very busy day.
"Kyoya? Are you almost done?", asked Tamaki from his perch on the arm of the sofa. The raven-haired boy gave a soft murmur and a nod of the head in response, not looking up from the glare of the laptop. Tamaki smiled, Kyoya always worked so hard. Even today. It was his birthday for crying out loud! He should be enjoying the day, and now it was nearly over. Of course Kyoya hadn't said a word about it all day, he never liked making a fuss about himself. Tamaki knew this and so, for once, he kept his mouth shut too.
"Motherrrrrr! Hurry up!" He whined impatiently. Kyoya just let out a small sigh and carried on, not even gracing the blonde with a reply.
Tamaki smiled softly and lifted his gaze to the window, framing the amber coloured sky and the gentle breeze rattling the bare branches of the cherry blossoms outside. It was beautiful. As he slowly wandered over to his best friend, he couldn't help but make the comparison, 'and so is he. More beautiful than words can say.' The soft smile grew as he sat by his friend.
"I'll leave without you, mon ami," he said quietly.
"Go ahead. Nobodies stopping you," came the mumbled reply. Tamaki chuckled quietly. He was always so abrupt but he never truly meant it.
"Alright. I'll go. I think I'm distracting you anyway," he smiled as he stood up again. A faint smirk crossed Kyoya's face,
"You're just one big distraction Tamaki." Tamaki laughed and hit his friend lightly on his arm. He loved it when Kyoya would loosen up a bit and relax. He always seemed happier and more...himself.
"By the way Kyoya?" Finally he looked up from behind his screen and arched an eyebrow at him, signalling him to continue.
Tamaki smiled again and bent down slightly so that he was level with Kyoya's face.
"Happy Birthday, mon amour," he grinned and placed a very chaste kiss on the boy's cheek before leaving swiftly. He didn't want to be questioned, or yelled at.
Kyoya sat frozen for a few seconds, then blinked. What the hell just happened?
As he closed the lid of his laptop, he lightly brushed his cheek with his free hand. A faint smile graced his features as he glanced around the now empty room.
As he made his way to the door, he stopped and a quiet mumble filled the room.
"Idiot."
((P.S. I'm working on my own original story at the moment so posting on new chapters etc. may be slow! ^^"))
