The moor was silent tonight. There was no sounds of grass rustling, nor the sound of deer trekking through the gorse. Blizzard was quiet, adding into the silence. He was curled up under the mouth of a rabbit warren, looking out into the darkness. The tom glanced back at the still, curled golden body of his mate, smiling softly. He turned back to his previous position, smile turning into a small frown. A faint breeze ruffled the tom's snowy white fur, and he sneezed softly. Tomorrow, the attack on Earth Heart's group would begin. As Blizzard returned his thoughts to the moor, he noticed that it was quiet on the moor.

"Yen, please!" Blizzard yowled desperately, grabbing onto his mate's scruff. Yen whirled around, blood covering his muzzle. His once beautiful amber eyes had turned ugly, filled with fire and wrath. This wasn't the Yen Blizzard knew.

"No, Blizzard!" He snapped angrily, tail lashing. "This is our destiny, love! We have to take down the groups to survive! It doesn't matter if you have family! You have me, and everyone else! Lilac! Turner! Blackie! You don't need to keep your ties with them! You ran away from them!"

Blizzard whimpered, tears pouring down his face. "Y-Yen.." He stared at his paws, crying. He wanted to go home. He wanted to go back to that old warren, with everyone in the group. He wanted to go sleep contentedly next to Yen, he wanted to go exploring near the mountains. He didn't want war, no one did. Except Yen.

"Blizzard, don't worry. We'll go-" Yen's voice was cut off as Blizzard slashed his claws down Yen's neck, sobbing loudly. Yen's eyes widened in shock as he stared at a trembling Blizzard, before falling to the ground.

Blizzard curled around Yen's dying body, crying loudly. He looked into Yen's eyes, his own filled with sorrow. "Y-Y-Yen, I'm so sorry..." He mewed. "B-B-But I don't want you to make war.."

Yen looked up at Blizzard as his fluffy white mate leaned down to gently kiss him on his forehead. "W-Why?..." He choked out, blood bubbling from his throat as he lay on the dry, sweetgrass. Yowls of rage and panic echoed around them. "W-Why would you kiss me?..."

"I-I couldn't let you die with you knowing I love you. I loved more than anything, Yen. I'm sorry." Blizzard meowed, twining tails with him. "Just go, I'll see you again soon."

Yen smiled weakly as the life drained from his eyes, and he grew still. Blizzard let out a mournful wail, tears splashing onto the corpse of the still, curled golden body of his mate.

Blizzard looked up at the dusk sky, stars beginning to appear, and shine. A new one had joined them. It shone a pale yellow color, unlike the ones around it. Blizzard smiled weakly, wiping away his tears.

"Goodnight, Yen. Sleep well. I love you."
