Two things first: One, this is an Animal Crossing Creepypasta, please don't compare it to the actual, epic one, and two, this is 100% guaranteed true. Think of it as you will.
Before, I used to love playing AC. I owned all three, the GameCube, DS, and even the new Wii one. However, of those, my favourite was undoubtedly the DS one, Wild World. I would play as much as I could. Now, I didn't feel any connection to anyone there, except one: Frogbert. This is the reason.
I hadn't the chance to play in a few days, so I decided to take out my DS and play some AC: WW. I instantly noticed that the mailbox was flashing. I checked the mail: the usual junk mail you get in AC, but there was also something else; a letter from Frogbert. There was absolutely nothing special about it. It was a plain, simple good-bye letter. My usual routine in these situations would be to check the map, just as I did. There was... Still no one. Not enough time must have passed by. Oh well, I thought. I decided to fish, dig, sell, plant, and buy stuff like usual. Same thing the next day.
However, the third day, someone FINALLY moved in. Samson the mouse. As usual, I ran over to the house to see exactly what Samson was, and if he would be fun to mess with, or if he had cool stuff. He was inside his house during the day. Odd, I thought, but not exactly unheard of. Many characters stay inside, like Bob the cat. Everything was usual. Gave out the usual conversation, talked about meeting the others, etc. However, as soon as I exited his house, I noticed something: the ground was littered with furniture. I thought myself lucky, and picked up as many as I could.
I instantly went into my house, and checked my inventory, and dropped one: a picture of Samson. I was flabbergasted. Didn't you get those only after being 'good friends' with someone? I checked the rest of my inventory. All the things on the ground were pictures of Samson. I went to the recycling bin to get rid if them. It too was filled. I went to Nook; he wouldn't buy them. I went to lost and found. Nothing but his pictures. I decided it wasn't that big of a problem, and decided to visit other people's places. They were all gone. There houses were still there, still the way it was supposed to be, except everyone was inside, and they had all turned into Samson. I checked every house repeatedly. Samson. I checked the Town Hall, Nook's, Etc. Although they remained intact, Samson was also hiding around each one.
After giving up, I turned it off without saving. I turned it back on. Reset gave his usual speech, but then said something about me trashing the town, and not to do it again. All the pictures were gone, save one, in front of my house. I quickly put it in the devoting bin, and checked the map. Samson was still there. I didn't even bother to check the houses. I just turned it off again. I haven't touched the game in over three years.
