Disclaimer: I don't own them, if I did Jarod and Parker would be living
happily ever after by now.
Rating: G (all the way, unless you don't like the word 'damn')
Author's Note: This is just a small piece that I had to do for school.
I just liked it and thought I would post it. Feedback is always welcome
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue
Miss Parker's heels could be heard, before she even entered the corridor.
The smell of cigarette smoke hung heavily in the air around her. When
she finally did appear in the room, she looked as immaculate as ever.
Hair and makeup perfect as always. Her micro-mini skirt and silk blouse
was an icyblue that reflected in her eyes.
"Broots." She snapped to her computer technician. "Any News on Rat Boy."
Using her pet name for Jarod made him flinch.
"S-sorry Miss Parker." Broots stumbled. "But this box did arrive.
Came in by courier, but there is no return address." Broots nervously
handed the box to her. Sometimes Parker felt bad at the way she treated
the poor guy. He always acted like a dog waiting for the master's angry
slap.
Brushing away those thoughts, Parker opened the box.
Inside were a red rose and a book. 'Your such a damn romantic, Jarod.'
Parker thought sarcastically. For a second she thought about keeping the
flower. It had been the only on she had received, but as soon as she t
hought it, she swept the thought away. There was no way she could accept
this gift when in came from Wonder Boy. She picked up the flower and
threw it into the garbage.
Next she picked up the book to examine it. "Not again." She groaned.
Inside was a copy of The Funniest Little Valentine, Jarod's book about
her.
The last time she had read this, she had gotten so mad, she threw it out
a window. NO one wrote anything about her, without her permission.
Obviously he knew this for he had not only printed another copy, but had
again sent it to her.
Opening the book she looked at a place, Jarod had marked.
'Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
This is the time
For a love that's true.'
Parker felt her eyes start to water, remembering a time as a child when
her mother had first wrote that to her on a Valentine's Card. After her
mother had been killed, the card had disappeared, but somehow Jarod had
found out about the card.
Tucking the book in her desk, Parker glared at Broots, making sure he
knew not to say a word.
With that Parker turned on her heels and stocked back out of the room.
Shaking his head, Broots sat back down.
* * * *
On her couch that evening, Parker sat reading the newest book in her
collection. Briefly she looked up and stared out her window.
Looking back at the little handwritten note Jarod had put in the book,
Miss Parker mentally thanked him for the little piece of her past.
"Happy Valentine's Day Jarod."
