Edward/Jasper, SLASH. Don't like, fuck off.

Promises
The first day
our arrival
is inconsequential. One in the countless.
They couldn't see us coming but then –
Jasper smells sharp crisp fresh fear
my favourite; it's so strong
a mile away and grins, white teeth.
They know.
He stops and takes a breath. The future smells good. Sex and promises.
---
Introductions foreshortened by dirty thoughts and indecently transparent clothing.
He's so young
younger than I expected
so young. He knows nothing of love, not yet. Jasper plans to teach him how to scream.
He looks at Carlisle and they share the look of exhausted ages.
"This is Edward."
Jasper smiles.
words ring in my ears, Edward, Edward, Edward, I know I'll scream that name
---
Black eyes darker soul prompt a response.
buttermilk eyes affixed frantically on my face, underlying fascination
Carlisle, the voice of superiority; "You should hunt. Edward will show you how."
Eyes on Edward, curve of lips. Nod of contention hidden with the smile.
Hunt?
I already am.
---
Alive by the chase but the taste of fatty blood, it's horrid, disgusting, I want people again, so thirsty
sound of their screams in my ears
Edward runs swiftly to one side
maybe it's not so bad.
---
Years into decades; he's growing up, older, wiser –
please don't leave me because you canI think I want you
but it's not love
it can't be
---
Fuck.
not meant to get this attached
He murmurs "I love you"
but I'd read it in his heart long before
no but you can't
---
Comes hard inside me and I realize
Lips brush on his forehead, two sets of fingers clasped marble against white sheets
I need him.
I'm scared
"I'm here."
He promises an eternity of oblivious love.
---
And then he hid from me.
---
Bella Swan.
---
Quiet murmur to himself every dead night
I thought you needed me too.
he knows Edward hears and somehow that makes it worse.
---
And now it's trickled off into nothing and Jasper is left alone in the dust
But Alice –
Alice is not Edward but at least he's not alone.
she's so clingy, Edward's touches were rarities, had meaning
He can't always compare them but he misses the feeling of fingers inside, misses cold touches hidden in clouded moonlight
But she's a human, she won't live forever –
he could kill her, it'd be so easy, fresh blood
I'm so thirsty, it's got harder, with Edward I could always resist
at last and hers is so sweet he can smell it
but Edward would hate me
No. The worst is he'd forgive him.
I'd just never forgive myself
---
And then they wonder why he helps protect her.
I'm not a monster
I just loved him.
---
"I promise you a heart you'd promise to keep; kiss my eyes and lay me to sleep."
