A Katniss/Peeta one shot. Enjoy!
Have you ever seen Katniss Everdeen? She's the most amazing girl ever. I remember when I first saw her. It was my first day of school. Dad dropped me off. I was saying goodbye when I suddenly saw a beautiful girl, with dark brown hair, and the brightest gray eyes I have ever seen. She was with her mom and sister. Dad saw me staring and told me. "Hey Peeta, you know that girl? I wanted to marry her mom but she ran off with a coal miner."
Why? Why would any girl marry a coal miner instead of my dad? My funny, kind dad. So, I asked him that.
"Why?" I looked at Dad with my bright blue eyes. "Why would she run off with a coal miner when she could've had you?"
Dad answered almost immediately.
"Because," he explained, "when he sings, all the birds stop to listen."
I didn't believe it. Sure, if a girl sang, but a man? I was confused. Dad must've seen my face because he chuckled and said, "You'll see. Anyways, I gotta go. Have fun Peeta! I'll see you this afternoon."
"Bye Dad!" I said and he left. I went inside and sat down with some of the boys. The teacher, Mrs Moore, walked in.
"Good morning, class!" she said in a friendly way.
"Good morning, Mrs Moore!" we cheered.
"Does anyone know the village song?" Mrs Moore asked.
"I do!" It was the girl I saw earlier. Mrs Moore laughed. "I've never seen anyone that excited about singing before! What's your name, sweetie?"
"Katniss Everdeen." Katniss said proudly.
"Well, Miss Everdeen, please begin."
Katniss opened her mouth and a soft harmonized voice came out. I looked at the window. The birds were singing a second ago, but now, they stopped and stared at Katniss. So, it was true! Katniss had inherited her father's singing voice. I vowed that day to marry her and have children. One day. And we wouldn't have to worry about our kids getting reaped. One day, she will no longer be Miss Katniss Everdeen. She will be Mrs Katniss Mellark, proud wife of me, Peeta Mellark.
So, what did you think? Please review, thanks! :)
