"The secret to a rich life is to have more beginnings than endings." Dave Weinbaum

"A lot of people seeking new beginnings have never finished with the past." Byron Pulsifer
He thinks she is art in it's purest form—untouched, unblemished. She is the embodiment of summer and happiness and winter and cold. A combination that shouldn't work but somehow completes the enigma, her being is.
She is the sturdy oak, the base, the support. She is the tree slowly withering against the test of time but still remains strong. He sees the others as leaves. The ones who decorate the tree—give it life because leaves need a home and she is home. After all, without the trunk and branches, leaves were nothing.
She is home in the way she smiles at him, when he comes home from a long mission. She is home in the way, she gives them comfort when life goes down down down.
She is home in the way, she leaves small packed lunches at the training grounds—she knows, they hardly eat anything healthy and ignore the call of nature in favor of sparing.
In the way, she scolds because she cares, when no one else ever has. He decides, he likes home. Home where it is full of new beginnings and no more secrets. No more barriers, no more walls.
He is free, from the life that closed in on him. He is free from running—running from himself.
He likes home. He likes it very much.
She makes him feel—feel things besides anger and hatred and failure. She is quick to rile him up with her haughty attitude and smart comments but is also quick to pacify him with soothing promises of a beautiful tomorrow and touches that set his body on fire.
She confuses him in the way she moves, gentle but taut—almost like a dancer. She floats. If he didn't know any better, he would think she is a fairy with her shiny hair, too large eyes and smile that makes his stomach do flips.
This woman, this five foot nothing medic holds power over him and does't even know it.
It frightens him, because he is cold and distant yet she makes him feel human— a feeling he never knew he was capable of experiencing. He feels it in the way, she coyly flirts with him; every nerve in his body comes alive when she innocently touches his forearm or leans her head on his shoulder after a long shift at the hospital.
He feels it in the way, she moans his name late at night, as he takes her to a place where they are the only thing that matter to each other. He sees the telltale signs of her life as a ninja in the dips and curves of her beautiful body. He has seen the toned muscles she hides under her white lab coat and the toned muscles she bares before him.
He has seen parts of her no other man has, he's heard wanton moans and screams of his name that drive him over the edge before he finally loses control.
She teaches him, sometimes the little things are worth it. Sometimes it is about zooming out of the big picture and focusing on each individual frame.
He's analyzed her frame by frame.
She's the picture of perfection, he concludes.
