As the first half of the meeting came to a close, nations took out their respective lunches. The Italy brothers pulled out linguine and fettuccine respectively, Germany had wurst, Japan a bento, and so on. America took out a McDonald's bag, containing a whopper and fries, along with a coke. His eyes traveled among the nations, at the different types of food, before looking at the strange thing that was Russia's lunch.
"Yo, Russia, the hell is that?!" America loudly questioned. Russia's lunch consisted of a two thin pieces of dough in the shape of a circle, and Russia was currently in the process of spreading a white cream, as well as small circular spheres onto one of them. "It kinda looks like a really thin pancake, with some weird cream and jam balls!" America excitedly exclaimed.
"While that was a good guess, America, it was incorrect," Russia responded. "This is блины со сметана и икра, one of my traditional foods. Do you want to give it a try?" America gave a nod, and Russia continued in his process of putting the food together. Once the white and orange were spread adequately on one dough circle, he began to fold two pieces, followed by rolling the dough into the shape of a cylinder. The food was passed over to the eager American, who took a large bite of it. His face twisted from excitement to confusion, baffled by the strange taste.
"This is some of the weirdest shit I've ever eaten!" America burst out, not bothering to swallow. "What exactly is this food?"
"Like I said before, it is блины со сметана и икра, but translated to English it is..." Russia mentally translated it. "A blin, which is the singular form of blini, is essentially a very thin pancake, and is very delicate. The white cream, is sour cream, and the orange spheres are fish eggs. I'm sorry if this wasn't to your taste." Russia gave a small, awkward smile, unsure as how to carry on the conversation.
"I mean, it's not bad, it's just... it was the weirdest taste combination I've had in a long time," America explained, before taking another large bite of the blin. "Oh!" America exclaimed, an idea coming to him. "How about next time the meeting is at my place, I'll give you some of my home cooked food, from any region that you want. Does that sound good?"
Russia smiled at the blond haired nation. "Yes, I would like that." And so any country that had heard the conversation was left confused as to what happened, and the occurrence was put at the back of their minds as the meeting continued once again.

Well, what do you all think? I know this is relatively short, but I thought it was cute. And the traditional food America tried can actually be very strange to people not used to it. Some other types of traditional Russian food include pirozhki, pelmeni, and the one many think of, borscht. These foods are all delicious (though that may be my Russian upbringing), and I hope you try them one day! -Potato
