Their conversation died out when they heard the soft taps against the window. They both gazed out at the window from the place they sat on the bed. She closed her eyes and distinguished the sounds in her ears. The thunder mumbled ready to roar. And when she opened her eyes she swore she saw a flash of light peeking from her white transparent curtains.
She sighed as she slowly reclined on the bed. He looked back at her curiously from the windows. She could feel his raised eyebrow as she continued to look out her lonely window.
"Lie down with me." She whispered, as if her voice might scare away the peaceful moment that seeped in. "Let's listen." He didn't move for a while as he absorbed her incredulous offer. Slowly, however, he felt her tranquil aura and he reclined onto the mattress beside her.
The rain grew louder as they became stiller. They were both motionless besides the movement of their meditative breathes, and blinks of their hazy eyes. They listened close to their environment as the thunder roared every now and then sending vibrations down their body. They heard the soft sounds of the rain soothing over the sudden sound of the thunder. And then the flashes of lightning that seemed to capture the moment and dance among this silent soothing fiasco.
Somewhere between their steady breathes their slowly closing eyes and the lullaby of the rain, they cocooned within each other and fell into a deep slumber. Both were briefly conscious of the other's warm presence and that of the nature's lulls.
