Cold

Disclaimer: I do not own Sweeney Todd or the associated characters.

Freezing winter nights like this were times when a pair of chilled people sought each other out. Sweeney Todd and Eleanor Lovett were too less than a couple to be giving the other night visits. A person's bed could get so cold, and having another body to share the space next to them both calmed and warmed them up.

It was not any kind of relationship, Sweeney would say to Nellie often, it was just a mutual understanding between the two. Nothing bad. Just sleeping.

When they would venture to a bed together- usually Nellie's, Sweeney would turn away completely, while she would face his back, sometimes running her hands over it soothingly, or stroking his hair, which he did not seem to mind. He was usually gone in the morning, even when she woke before the sun rose, but a few times he hadn't left. He would now be facing her, while she was the one that had turned away in her sleep, and a rare time, his hand would rest on her waist.

Once, she had woken up to find this, but dared not to move, in case he was snapped from his dream world. They were always warm now, with the company of one another, the heat between them shared and much appreciated from both sides. Sweeney had built high and strong walls, protecting him from the emotions that tried to crawl their way in, from the feelings that were sometimes ignited by Nellie. She was breaking down his walls slowly, the more they shared a bed.

Sweeney was starting to feel again. It was all because of Nellie's warmth in the damn cold that plagued them.

Author's Note: Thanks so much for reading. So sorry it's short! Review if you want- they really help motivate me. Only a few stories left… I can't wait for it. Who knows what will happen next?
