My SAO Project

One: Intro

It is the year 2022, Japan has finally created the virtual environment realm game developers have been striving to create for many, many years. Instead of talk, it has become reality, all thanks to Kayaba Akihiko and his small team of developers. Though technically speaking, the software had been out for quite a while, only lucky beta testers had been given the chance to test the game beforehand. No matter, the official release to the public was finally here and man did that cause quite a swarm. Japanese teens from all ages and all over, this including myself, eagerly waited outside their local video game store in hopes to purchase the new Sword Art online box set. This set would include the Nevergear, The Learners Maul and many more. I, Ryotaro Mitsu, being in that shroud of people would know firsthand that achieving this goal of getting the game would not be an easy task. Standing in line for three days with your big brother with no showers, random people pulling the "skipsies card", being teased by brothers friends, and lastly having some way older men trying to flirt with way younger girls such as myself, was not an easy task. In the end, however; I had been successful, minus the inconveniences. So the wait had been totally worth it because I got my SAO game!

Opening the door to my traditional styled apartment, I am greeted by the three red leather suitcases at the entrance. I grimace at the sight, leaving the new boxed game on the small wooden table I begin to roll the bags back towards where they belong. Before I am able to reach my destination, I am stopped by a sudden embrace.

"Mitsu-Chan your home. I wasn't expecting you till later!"

The hugger's voice, belonging to my mother yells, ignoring the obvious odor coming from my three day old body.

"Well, I guess I'm early. I hadn't really paid attention to time!"

I respond in a half excited, half annoyed tone, earning myself a flick on the head.

"Good, good, how is your brother? Well I hope!"

"If you consider living off of pizza and pokey good, then, yeah he's great. Now uh, mama could you let go of me please? You're squishing me!" I say in the same tone as before earning another flick on the head. Suddenly I'm being pushed away abruptly.

"Oops, Sorry Mitsu-chan you know me!"

Looking down, Mother notices the suitcases by my side. Releasing this, a sigh from her once smiling face goes serious before looking back towards me.

"Well, seeing as you've caught my suitcases. I'm sure you know what's happening next hm?"

With a small nod, I roll the ripped bags back to the doorway. Knowing that any arguing would only make my mother feel worse about the whole situation. Making our decent down the stairs, my mother begins to nervously ramble like she does when feeling bad. Once we finish putting the three leather suitcases in the trunk, my Mom's expression goes serious.

"Tsuboi-kun will be expecting you for dinner tonight, he'll walk you home after…Uh, and recipes are on the counter as well as emergency numbers... Oh come here!"

Mother yells as we both embrace. Only feels like seconds before we part.

"Ooo! Before I forget, emergency money is under the milk in the fridge! Bye, love you!"

I wave as my mom drives off out of site.

In the small, usually gloomy town of Kawagoe, lies a 14 year old boy Kirigaya Kazuto. On this unusual day the town's kids had been very cheery thanks to the whole SAO craze. Paying no attention to the excited radio announcer's voice on his computer, the 14 year old teen continues his magazine without a word…While flipping through one of the pages a loud yell is heard out his window, catching him off guard the teen cuts his finger on one of the pages. Dismissing the cut young Kirigaya Kazuto quickly tunes back to the yellers voice who had called his name.

"Brother, I'm leaving for practice now meeting up with _-san! Call her or me if you need anything!"

At those words the short black haired boy looks towards his square clock on his wardrobe. The clock read 11:45 p.m. Grabbing his phone, the short boy begins to dial the number (_-_-_) _ _ _-_ _ _ _.

"Hello?"

A fuzzy voice is heard on the other end of the phone.

"Hey _-san it's me, Kirigaya."

"Oh hey Kazuto-kun I was just about to call you, actually. What's up? Everything ok?"

The cheery and somewhat scratchy voice responds with slight concern. Rubbing the back of his neck, the black haired boy begins to speak once more.

"Yeah no I'm fine, just wondering if you still where planning on playing SAO tonight, it's finally available again."

"Oh yeah well, you see that's what I've been meaning to tell you…"

Hesitantly (L/N) (F/N) responds not wanting to continue.

"What?"

"Well I… I can't go on today sorry Kazuto, I know how much we were looking forward to this. It's just I really need to practice for my upcoming match, you know? I just can't go on today I'm sorry…"

Silence is all that is heard before finally the black haired boy just closes his phone. 'Ugh, oh well, I guess I'll be alone on this one for today.' The fourteen year old thinks to himself as he begins to set up for his own Sword Art Online game…

"Alright, Alright, Alright Let's get this started!"

I scream to myself, plugging in the last cord for the Sword Art Online system. Probably annoying the neighbors all the while. Attempting to go over the setups manual one last time, I find myself becoming more and more confused. Once lying down on the plain futon in my room, I give up with a shrug tossing the booklet somewhere in the room. Picking up the Nervegear helmet, I begin to squirm around in attempt to get comfy.

"Ok, maybe if I move here…Nope. How about a little to the- dang it! What about, ok there we go, there we go! All nice and comfy now…Damn now I have to pee… Maybe I should take a shower to?!"

A few minutes later after a well needed bathroom break, I return once again to my small futon. With wet red hair, a now nice clean body, and some Kpop pajamas. I am now ready to play, quickly getting comfy I slide the Nevergear helmet over my head.

"Alright all situated then. Now let's see, what where those words to start the game... Oh no I forgot! Dang it! All never be able to START my awesome sword art online game! I guess I'm just going to have to send Tsuboi an email. Maybe he'll even send me a LINK to a site that gives cheats for it…Wait…Wait!"

"Link Start!"
