A/N: Hi all! I have no idea what this is, but when inspiration hits you how can you deny it? I know it's short but I wrote in like 5 min. Anywayyy... Enjoy.

In his 1000 years Elijah rarely saw Klaus to smile. Yes, he smirked, a devilish smirk was on his face often, but never truly smiled. He supposed it had something to do with being on the run from their father, but the point was Klaus Mikaelson rarely smiled. The last time he truly smiled, and the last time he was happy was in their simple human days.

Klaus loved being a hybrid, he loved being the most powerful creature on Earth, but that had a price.

For a 1000 years Elijah never saw Klaus smile until he met her.

She was beautiful, she had this light around her, and when she smiled it was like watching the sun rise. She had bright eyes and she was full of life. Her golden hair shined brightly in the sun, and when Elijah saw this he knew she was the perfect girl for his brother. She was young, but wise, and she knew how to handle Klaus. Elijah got to know her better and after a month of spending time with her he could tell why his brother had fallen for her. It was her light that made her special, she the one for his brother. While Klaus lived in darkness, she chose the light. Well opposites do attract. Her name was Caroline.

Klaus favorite hobby was drawing, and Caroline always watched him draw. When she waled into their living room, Caroline found her husband siting on the expensive black sofa sketching. She smiled and waled over to him. She sat beside him and tried to look at his unfinished sketch, but of course he was faster and closed it. She adorably pouted and Klaus smiled at her.

"You know I don't allow anyone to see my drawings before they are finished, sweetheart." It was true. Every time Caroline tried to look at his unfinished work he took the sketchpad from her.

"Please." Caroline tried with her best puppy dog eyes.

"Sorry, love." He smiled at her and went back to finishing his sketch.

"Can I watch you?"

Klaus sighed, "Come here." With a big smile on her face she sat next to him and watched him. They both sat there in comfortable silence, the only noise was the soft strokes of Klaus pencil on he paper, unaware that Elijah was watching them with a smile on his face.

Before when Klaus was sketching alone he was serious, but with Caroline on his side he had the biggest smile on his face that only Caroline could put there.

Caroline was perfect for the big bad hybrid and Elijah was reminded of that ever day. He was glad that his family had finally found happiness. And they owed it all to the girl sitting next to his brother.

Elijah shook his head, he had to see his girl now.
