i was watching the vampire diaries season 3 ending when elena dies in the car and i thought what if abi was the one dying instead of elena and told ben instead of stefan to take lauren instead of matt ?

The water was filling the whole of the car, moving fast to the top and abi was trying so hard to find a way out. She turned to her left to see Lauren unconscious. She tried shaking her but it didn't work. As the water moved up to the roof, abi held her breath as the car sunk to the bottom of the river they had crashed into. She tried battering the windows and tried to open the door but failed. As she looked to the front of the car, she was thankful that Phil and Billy managed to get her mum and dad out before they sunk to depths of the frozen water. You see earlier on that day, the Mitchell and branning planned a field day out. To make up for the war that happened between them months again about the Amy situation. Abi was hesitant on going as things were awkward between her and jay after all it had only been a few weeks before that she came back from Costa Rica and they had still yet to talk to each other. For the whole trip jay mostly spent the day sitting with Lola and ben, while abi sat with Lauren. As the car sunk deeper, abi was hit with a flashback to how this happened.

Flashback

The brannings were all in a range rover driving to their destination with the Mitchell's following behind.

Abi and Lauren were singing to the top of their lungs in the backseat not noticing that behind them jay, ben and Phil who wear in the front seat of the car behind them were laughing at them.

Just when max was about to turn the wheel he hit something which caused the car to skid. Phil and Billy ran out of their car and ran over and opened the front car doors and both pulled out Tanya and max leaving Lauren and abi to scream for help as the car moved towards the river in front of them.

When the car hit the water, as it sunk the last thing abi saw on shore was jay running towards them crying in fear.

End of flashback

As abi finished remembering, she heard a noise and turned to see ben swimming towards the car. Ben ripped open the door and reached for abi but abi refused as she pointed to Lauren doing hand gestures to show that she wanted Lauren out first. ben hesitated but soon realized that abi wouldn't budge so finally took Lauren and swam away from the wreck leaving abi to let go as she couldn't hold her breath any longer and as she let go her world soon became black and never to be bright again .
