I, the fool
A poem about some of my personal beliefs.
As you stand, struggling,
Upon the edge of time,
Trapped between fading life,
And overpowering death,
Think awhile about this.

In this life,
Someone has hated you,
Someone has loved you.
Someone has pitied you,
Someone has envied you.
Someone has hit you,
Someone has kissed you.
Someone has scowled at you,
Someone has smiled at you.
Someone has laughed at you,
And someone has laughed with you.
---
All may have rejected you,
Spat on you,
And called you a fool,
And you may call me a fool for dreaming,
But I believe,
That though mankind has rejected you,
And you have lost all hope,
When you slip into the dark tunnel,
Death's void,
The dark whirlpool,
And when you think this is the end,
You will reappear on the other side,
And there'll be someone at the end,
Waiting to greet you.

Yeah, you may say I'm a dreamer,
And I'm living in a fantasy world.
Bound by black words
Printed in a book,
My Holy Scripture,
And I spend my time waiting for death.
You say I'm blind to the truth,
And I'm mindless,
Can't see what's in front of me.

But how can I live in fantasy world,
When I live in reality?
How can I be bound,
When I've never been in chains?
How can I await death,
When I want to live forever?
I don't know what truth is,
And I can see everything with my eyes,
And more.

I want to sit by a lake
And watch the sun set behind mountains.
I want to give my heart to another,
And give my soul to God.
Yeah, call me a fool.
I know that I love to dream,
But this is my reality.
If this is insanity,
Then insanity is all I have.
I'll dance barefoot
On the surface of a lake,
Just to show He exists.
But I don't need to prove anything to you,
Because I know,
He exists.
But you don't have to believe that.
Think what you like,
Live how you like,
Just make sure you live life to the full.
It doesn't matter who you are,
Where you are,
Why you are here,
Because,
The earth is the earth is the earth.
And I am me,
You are you,
And death does not present fear for me.
So bewho you want to be.

Blind,
Deaf,
Dumb.
Yes.
I am a fool.
A dreamer.
A foolish girl.
Yes.
I am a fool.
But a happy one.
