OoOoO different time and space, LTSD (Later That Same Day)
Disclaimer: No, I don't own the Titans, but I guess you can see what would happen if I did...
Robin heard Starfire gasp as a tall, ruby-headed Tamaranian boy with huge, emerald eyes gazed at her. It was too much-she couldn't marry him!
Oh god no. Who is that guy! Do all Tamaranians have red, silky hair? No, it can't be. Blackfire has, well, black hair…and those green eyes! Those emerald eyes cannot be standard. He must be noble born-how can I measure up to that? The boy's frickin' gorgeous…!
Did I just think that?
No, what I meant…well, he's perfect. He's just as beautiful as her, just as strong, he'll be able to protect her while I…
I…I only want to protect her…
No! I need need NEED to protect her! No matter who this guy is, he can't have Star-he can't have MY Star!
The gasp turned to a groan as the boy swept his arm to the side; it dawned on all of them that he was a mere servant (although, for the record, a simply GORGEOUS servant) ready to introduce the groom, who was, in fact…a bowl of green jello?
Whoa, it isn't him. Should I be this happy? It's not like the next groom won't be as…
Well, what IS he? Some green slop of a swamp creature?
Panic settled in as Robin considered what was filtering through the room; Starfire's cries at being sent to some swamp planet, the jello's snorts of delight…it seemed as if everything began to spin…
What can he do? He may be a ruler, but he'd never be able to give her what I-WE, what WE give her, what the titans have…what Star and I have…
OoOoO
Robin turned silently to see that he was surrounded, and below, his princess, his beautiful, Tamaranian princess, was about to be wed to some extra-terrestrial dessert-gone-wrong.
There's nothing I can do, Star. It's always been your choice…
STARFIRE!
It wasn't just a yell, not just a scream, it was her name, it was her choice, it was his question-
Would you choose me?
OoOoO
Robin was at the floor now, watching. It was her battle, and even the royal subjects dare not interfere; the princess fought for the crown-the princess fought for her right, her choice. When she won, when she took her crown, Robin's heart stopped.
Star, it's all you. This is your court, your stage. What do you think is right?
OoOoO
When they returned that night, Robin was ready to cry with relief. She had chosen; she had chosen them, her friends, her planet, she was willing to sacrifice her throne for them.
And I can't help but feel…
The image of her looking up at him before she chose between her duty and her love-
…like she chose Me.
Fin.
