As I watch you, it hurts inside. You were meant to be a god. But now...now your hair is no longer perfectly groomed. Your leathers have been replaced with clothes of a peasant. And the fire that once burned so brightly in your eyes has faded into sullen despair.

I'm so sorry. I have no right to be the Goddess of Love. You gave up everything -- all that you knew -- for a woman. And in the end, you didn't get her. Some love goddess I am.

Athena stole all of the ambrosia before the Warrior Babe killed her off. Cupie and I have been looking, though. We'll find it. You need to be a god again, Ares. Look at you. You haven't eaten anything since Xena left, have you? Your ribs are starting to show. Those perfectly toned muscles are gone now. Mortality is killing you -- you weren't meant for it.

I miss you, you know that? You used to be so strong and sure of yourself. You were always there when I needed you, and now that Hephie's gone...I really need you, Ar.

I'd do anything to go back in time. Back when Daddy and Hephie were still around. Hera could stay dead for all I care, though...she's the first one that hurt you. She's the one that made you the God of War -- something you've told me time and time again you hate being. Remember, back when we were kids? That was so long ago, but we were both so innocent. You didn't have blood on your hands, and I didn't have infedelity on mine. You were so sweet, Ares. Thank goodness most of that sweetness stayed with you. As much as Hera tried, she couldn't take that away. Maybe I shouldn't talk badly about her though, 'cause I know in some way you respect her.

I wonder if you're happy that Daddy's gone. Athena was always his favorite, and I ran a close second, but you... He was always mean to you. But he did love you, Ar. I know he did 'cause he told me. He should have been nicer, though. I think you needed his love more than Hercules ever did...Hercules didn't care about Zeus. At least not in the end. He's the one that offed him. I don't blame him though, just like I don't blame Xena for killing Heph. They were both just trying to protect Eve.

Well, Ar, I'll get that ambrosia, and you'll be a god again. Then I can focus on other matters, such as how to get you and your Princess together. It'll come to me... 'Cause watching you, I know you can't live without her. So she'll be yours...soon.
