I know this was awhile ago but I figured it needed to be done.
Antonio was exhausted after an undercover task. All of the involved offenders were in custody, and Voigt gave him the green light to go home. He was putting on his leather jacket as he headed towards the district door to leave. "Dawson!" Platt barked. His soul sinked just a little. " If she is trying to give me overtime i think I'm going to go insane." He thought. "Matt Casey called, he said it was regarding your sister and to call him back as soon as possible..." He was thankful it wasn't over time but what could be going on? "Thanks Sarge..." He replied as he dialed Casey. " Antonio, hey..." "Casey what's going on?" " Gabby had pain in her abdomen and it turned out that the baby would never survive. She is lucky she did." " Chicago Med?" "Yeah Will was the one that operated. She needs you Antonio..." I'm on my way..." He replied instantly as he got into his truck and sped to the hospital.
Gabby was secretly somewhat happy her brother wasn't here. That way he didn't worry about her and she was she almost felt weak in this state. Not physically but emotionally. Matt did not tell Gabby Antonio was coming.
"Gabby Dawson?" "Sir, we already had more than enough firefighters come here today for her..." " I'm not a firefighter I'm her brother... Who happens to be a cop..." He replied as he held up his badge. " Oh sorry sir... Ok she is in room D89." " its alright, thank you." He paced hallway D looking for the room. " 83, 85, 87, 89..." He looked in the window, his heart sunk. She was so pale. He entered the room where his sister was sleeping. " I will just give you two time..." Antonio patted Casey's shoulder. He stroked Gabby's face. " Gabby... Hey i'm here..." She jolted slightly awake. " Tonio... You didn't have to come..." " of course i did..." He said as he sat next to Gabby on the bed putting his arm around her. " Gabby i'm always here for you..." " i know... Matt has been sweet and all but i really missed you." " Yeah i always took care of you when you were sick, trust me, you can stay at my place if you want..." " i'm ok Tonio. " "i realized I wanted to be a mother... And this was just..." "Gabs... Relax...you can always try again..." She rested her head on his chest. He brought his arms around her in a gentle hug. " thats true..." She replied. They sat there awhile. Gabby was happy in her brother's arms
