Today was Ryuzaki's birthday, not that it really mattered to him. It just seemed like another day. He sat in hi usual chair drinking tea and stacking the sugar cubes that were on the table in front of him. That was when he heard the front door open. Watari walked in with a few bags, and set them on the table.
"All of this is for you, but I'm sure you might have know that," Watari said smiling kindly at Ryuzaki.
"And I would also like you to know that a few guests are here to see you." Ryuzaki looked the smallest bit confused and seen that Watari was looking past him. Misa Amane was carrying something big in a bag in her arms and Light walked in behind her also carrying something big. Ryuzaki got out of his chair and asked Light what they were doing there.
"Well, Watari sort of told us that it was your birthday…so here you go!" said Misa not giving Light a chance to speak. Ryuzaki grabbed what Misa had given to him and Light sat what he had down on an open spot on the table. Ryuzaki slowly took the bag off, revealing a large cake with white frosting and strawberries that said "Happy Birthday Ryuzaki" in blue icing.
"Well….that's very kind of you," said Ryuzaki still looking at the cake in his hands. Misa took it to set it on another open spot on the table.
"Light has something to give you too," Misa said grabbing the other present and handing it to Light.
"I thought you might like to add this to what you have," Light said, handing it to Ryuzaki. He opened this one slowly too and found out that it was a brand new tea set.
"You drink so much tea everyday….and this was one of the nicest ones that I could find. I hope you like it."
"I thank the both of you for this, even though you didn't have to get me anything….." Ryuzaki said looking at the both of them.
"Well, you know…there is a huge cake on that table waiting for you to eat it!" Misa said and pushed him over to the table. Light agreed to cut it and the three of them sat down to eat it. Ryuzaki concentrated on eating most of the time which led Misa to say "I think the cake gets a major approval!"
After eating the cake, Ryuzaki looked into the other bags that Watari had brought and seen that it was a ton of different sweets. Inside the last bag there was a card that said "Happy Birthday to the sugar monster we know and love!" and inside was signed by Watari, Light, and Misa.
