I was alone. The rest of the flock, including Fang, was asleep. I was one top of the house, hidden away in the mountains of Colorado (sorry, that's all the info I can give you). It's where I go to think. Now, I was thinking of the prediction Angel had made, back in Africa. The prediction about Fang. She had said that Fang would be the first do die. I don't want to live without him. I can't. He is my forever, and my forever, was supposed to die. Great. My life is going smoothly. And now, on top of everything, I am supposed to have this chosen "soul mate" that goes by the name of Dylan. Not that I don't like him, what with those great looks and all, but Fang is my soul mate. Not Dylan.
"Fang may not be here forever, Max. But that's why we have Dylan. To replace him." I jumped. I haven't heard my voice in so long. What? You don't have one? Jeez, they are SO cheap at the dollar store.
"But I don't want anyone to replace Fang." I thought angrily, directing it towards my voice. Whatever. Great. Now, I have this stupid, but very catchy dong in my head from earlier.
"Friday night beneath the stars," I started to sing. Great! "in a field behind your yard, You and I are painting pictures in the sky. And sometimes we don't say a thing, just listen to the crickets sing. Everything I need is right here by my side. And I know everything about you, I don't wanana live without you. I am becoming such a girl. I really hoped no one heard me. But, I can't believe I'm saying this, but, this song is so me and fang. I smiled up at the stars, then left the roof and went to bed.
