"C'mon, Cas." Dean uttered as he tugged on Castiel's hand, pulling him outside.
"Dean? What is this? Where are we going?"
"Not far, just outside."
"Why?" Castiel asked incredulously.
"I want to show you something, just.. Stay here." And with that he'd left Cas standing outside in the cold, waiting upon his return.
After what felt like eternity... Or well, 3 minutes. Dean returned with a telescope and a blanket.
"What are those for?" Cas asked as a shiver ran up his spine. Being a human had its faults, the temperatures effect being one of them.
"Well, huggybear. The blanket." Dean began as he draped the soft-to-the-touch blanket across Castiel's shoulders. "Is for your highness, and the telescope? You know what that's for right?"
Castiel rolled his eyes. "Of course, Dean. But I've seen the stars a thousand times and more.. What's so special about this time?"
"This time, it will be different. I promise you that." Dean began setting up the telescope, pointedly ignoring the "I seriously doubt it." Which Cas had grumbled. "Here, come 'ere." Dean crooked his finger, motioning for Cas to move closer.
Dean had set the telescope up just right, so that when Cas took one look down the cyllinder he was met with one star, clearly focused on it. "What's so different about this star?" He asked naively.
"Well, it's officially named after you." Dean announced with a grin which just met his eyes, he was so proud. Hopefully Cas liked it.
"Named after me?" Cas asked in wonder. "You mean.. You named a star after me?"
"Generally.. Yeah." Dean shrugged, as if it was no biggy.
"Isn't that... Incredibly cheesy?" Cas asked, a smile beginning to light up his features as he stepped back from the telescope.
"Generally.. Yeah." Dean repeated, clearing his throat nervously. "Sort of.. you know, a gift. Stars are unique, each one shines brightly but are completely different.. And in my point of view, you shine the brightest, just like the star you were named after.
"Thats.." Cas began before Dean interrupted him.
"Sappy?"
"No."
"Stupid?"
"No, Dean." Cas gripped Dean's hand and smiled up at him, his blue eyes shining in the moonlight. "That's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard."
"Oh." Dean breathed out. It was the only thing he could really say.
"I love it." Cas muttered, glancing from Dean to the sky, at his star.
"Should we go back inside?"
"No.. I think... I think I'd like to stay out here with you and watch the stars."
"Now who's being sappy?" Deans muttered with a smirk, watching as Cas crouched down before sitting on the ground, it wasn't wet, which was good because he proceeded to tug Dean down to his level.
"Be quiet and watch the stars with me." Cas whispered, a sappy smile lingering on his face.
