Ranma smiled and sighed, leaning back carefully. He rarely got to relax like this when eating. Most of the time, Genma would attack, and he would have to eat quickly, then try to steal some of his old man's food to make up for what was stolen.
So now was a rare treat. Everyone was out for a while, shopping, or, in Genma and Soun's case, hiding from the master. The master himself was nowhere to be seen, but Ranma was assured wherever he was he was making some poor woman's life hell. But he wasn't there, so he couldn't really deal with it.
So he was enjoying this, like he never had. He had found a small piece of pork that hadn't been cooked in the fridge, and had decided to try cooking it himself, since Kasumi was gone. Much to his vast pleasure (and relief), it had come out far better than he had hoped.
Bringing his napkin to his face, he began to wipe off the last bits of the meal when Nabiki strolled in.
"Oh, hiya Nabiki." Ranma was rather cheery in his greeting. One, because he had finally had a decent meal in peace. Two, he didn't owe her any money.
Which pissed her off to no end, but that's not important.
"Good afternoon, Saotome." Nabiki was fairly polite as well. She yawned and stretched. "And why are we so cheery this after-" she was cut off as she looked down at Ranma. Screaming, she passed out with a loud 'thud'.
"I... what the?" Ranma glanced down at himself. He was a guy, he was in his normal clothes, he was holding a napkin, and he was eating. There weren't any roses around, either, so life was going pretty good.
Shrugging it off, he continued to wipe his face with his napkin. "Huh, she musta just... oh, hiya Akane!"
Akane had just walked in, bags of clothes in her arms, looking rather cheery. "Oh, hi Ranma! I just returned from shopping, and..." Her eyes ever so slightly began to widen as she looked at Ranma. Her jaw dropped open, and her entire body convulsed as though from a shock. Small beads of sweat began to pour down off her forehead. They were obviously not from the heat of the sun.
The only thing she could manage to do was make her eye twitch and ever so slightly say "it...it...it...it...it...." before she screamed as loud as possible and fainted.
"I... well what in hell?? Geez, I know I haven't taken a shower today but I can't possibly look THAT bad!!"
Frowning, Ranma glanced down. Yep, still a guy, still relaxed, still wearing his normal chinese clothes, still holding a napkin, still...
He glanced at the napkin. Odd. When had Kasumi bought new yellow polka dotted napkins?
