Waited but you never came
I counted hours, minutes, seconds
Till they all became the same
I paced across the room and back
I opened and slammed the door
I pressed my face into the sheets
Till breath came in no more
I carved your name into my pillow
Then beat it till it was gone
I stared out of that prison window
Cursed moonlight on the lawn
I tapped my finger on the glass
Then punched my hand right through
I winced, then smiled, embraced the pain
