There was a rumor that Sasuke liked girls with long hair.

After fan girls heard that rumor, they proceeded to grow their hair.
Now, it's virtually impossible to find a girl with short hair.

There was a rumor that Sasuke was gay.

There was no such rumor, I lied, gomen-nasai.

There was a rumor that Sasuke was married to some ninja (with long hair) from Suna.

Yeah right.

That was followed by the rumor that they had kids.

Once again, yeah right. Sasuke was only 12 at that time, and, ew. Just ew.

Years went by,
No actually it was just a week,
But those rumors all passed.
Now there was a new rumor.
And it was spreading quickly through the Konoha grapevine.
The rumor was that supposedly,
Sasuke carries a picture of his true love inside his wallet.
Dun Dun Dun.

"We need to find that picture!" announced Sakura to Ino.
"Fine! Even though it means teaming up with you!" replied Ino as she held her nose up in the air.
The two were best friends, both crushing on the same guy. They had a great friendship although it was also apparent that they also had a fierce rivalry.
The two kunochis were at the top of the grapevine, and were some of the first people to know any rumors. Already, they had planned their scheme to get a hold of their crush's wallet.
The only thing making the two kunochis hesitant was that what if they did get his wallet? Who would be in the picture? What if it wasn't themselves…what if it was a guy? The two girls both shuddered at that thought.
Then, breaking the silence, Sakura said, "Let's just get started."
And thus began the plan…
Dun Dun Dun

Sasuke was just walking home with his hands in his pockets when Naruto ran up to him, panting hard.
"Teme…pant…do you know how long it took me to find you?" asked Naruto.
"No."
"I came to warn you! There's…pant pant…a new rumor about you! They think you've got a picture of your true love in your wallet. PANT! Beware…" Naruto uttered.
"Hhn," was all Sasuke said before continuing his walk back home.
When he got home, he quickly locked the door and opened his wallet. He smirked as he looked at the picture inside. Yes. This was no rumor, it was a fact! There was indeed a picture inside his wallet. He couldn't say it was his "true love" though…

The wallet was in their hands.
How that happened, you ask? I'll just give you the short step-by-step.
The plan was to find someone that was faster and/or stronger than Sasuke. That person will ask Sasuke to spar. Then, without Sasuke noticing, the person will steal, I mean borrow, his wallet. Said wallet will then be delivered to Sakura. Then Sakura will meet Ino and open Sasuke's wallet. Below are the people they asked for help from.
Rock Lee. Failed because Sakura refused to go out with him.
Neji. Failed because he said he didn't want to help girls with their problems. That earned him a punch and a kick.
Asuma. Completely failed because Asuma laughed too much.
Kakashi. He turned out to be the one that helped the girls. For a new Icha Icha book of course.
So now the two kunochis were holding said wallet…

As Sasuke walked home, he passed Sakura staring into space and Ino passed out on the pavement. He also saw his wallet lying open on the ground between them. He smirked as he picked his wallet up and proceeded to walk home.
That same night, the rumor became old news. The people of Konoha had moved on to another juicy rumor.
Sasuke took the picture out of his wallet. He looked at it. Then he laid it on the table and walked off to bed.
Just what was in the photo?
Two baskets…filled with tomatoes.
