Remus sat down on his couch with a tall glass of firewhisky in his hand. He stared at the wall, not believing, not wanting to.

For two years, Remus had a best friend again. After twelve long years, thinking that Sirius Black had turned his back on the light, and had taken two of his best friends – brothers – with him. For twelve years, Remus had hated Sirius almost as much as he hated Voldemort, if not more. But Harry Potter and his friends had helped Remus see what really happened, and for two glorious years, Remus was no longer alone.

Thinking back, if Remus had known that Sirius' time home again would have been so short he would have tried much harder to be with Sirius, and cheer him up even if he was living in a home he had run away from so many years ago.

But Remus had not, he had a false illusion that nothing would take Sirius again after so long apart. He had thought that no cruel ruler of fate would take back someone so important in so many people's lives. Remus was wrong. Remus was alone.

Remus found his mind drifting, back to when there were four brothers, inseparable, seemingly unbreakable.

"Only four days until graduation," Sirius had said.

"We have to promise that we will still see each other, and that no matter what happens in the war, we can always turn to one of our brothers if we ever need them," James had always been the one to think of the future.

"I solemnly swear that no matter how much time passes, we will always be brothers," the four had said together.

As it turned out, only three brothers meant it.

Remus hadn't thought of that day in so long. There was just an understanding between them. They all knew that no matter what happened, they would be there for each other. They had been wrong.

A/N: I love reviews

A special thanks to you're my Star who was totally unsuspecting when she reviewed, but she is the first one to ever review any of my stories so she gets lots of thanks. (and yes, if you review there is a good chance you will be up here too(if you would review but don't want to be up here just say so (yes I am trying really hard to get reviews but they are my candy)))

A/N 2: I'm back again, and I would like to thank…

recklessly confined (sorry about the normal letters FF is being weird, for how it really looks, cheak the review page) Thanks for the review!

pinkpirategirl: I agree with you about Sirius, however I simply refused to believe that Sirius was dead. Anyway, I doubt you'll see this, but I really don't care, thanks for the review, and sharing my views on the Marauders.

And now it's time for you to review, its not hard, all you do is press the little button in the corner and tell me what you thought, it can be as simple as "I read your story" or "it was good" or you can be creative, I know you can.
