Will woke from his sleep around what he predicted was around 9 AM. He gazed over to the other side of his bed and admired Alyss. He smiled and got up to dress. Even with such a simple task as dressing, his Ranger skills still made sure he made next to no noise. Still, however, Alyss was a light sleeper and slowly woke as he dressed. "Good morning" she said in a tired but generally positive tone. "What would you like for breakfast?" Will asked. "Surprise me" Alyss replied. She wasn't a breakfast person but anything to keep Will with her for just a few more minutes was more than good to her. Will wasn't a bad cook either she thought and today she was in an absolutely ecstatic mood. After spending a romantic evening with Will the night before, they both experienced each other for their first time. After Alyss had sent her letter confessing her love for Will, he surprisingly showed up to her door in a very quick amount of time. Normally the ride from Wills home in Seacliff took around three days to make to her home, but Will had made it in two. She smiled at the thought of this. "Here you are, I managed to scavenge around and make you some pancakes with blueberries" Will said as he entered the room with an aromatic plate of the pancakes. She didn't show it, but she secretly was starving despite not usually having an appetite this time of the morning. "It smells great!" Alyss said. Will simply smiled as she watched Alyss delicately eat her pancakes. It wouldn't make for a Diplomatic Courier to be seen devouring pancakes like a Skandian who hasn't eaten in three days, even if Will was her love interest. "So when will you be leaving" Alyss said with a slight hint of hopefulness that showed she didn't want Will to leave anytime soon. "Around noon, Seaclff still needs its Ranger and after I deliberately left with no warning not too long after I had arrived, the Baron might be slightly agitated" Will said with a smile to try and soften the words that he would be leaving soon. After a few seconds of silence, Alyss said "Well I'm full of these pancakes and I'm quite bored, and you still have a few hours before you leave" Wills eyebrow started to rise as his mentors did frequently. "So what will we ever do in the meantime" Alyss said with an innocent but meaningful tone. Wills cheeks turned to a light shade of pink as he realized what Alyss was implying. "Of course my lady" he said while holding his hand out to Alyss, "I know just the thing".
It was noon and will and Alyss were still lying in her bed, admiring each other without saying a word. Will finally broke the silence, "I have to go now" he said softly with a small smile. "I know" Alyss said and she returned the smile, but she was anything but happy to hear the news. After Will had dressed—again, he saddled Tug, and turned Alyss, who was waiting in the doorway. He approached her and kissed her softly on her lips. "I'll write to you" Will said. Alyss simply nodded and said "I love you, Will". Will realized this was the first time that either of them had said it in person. Alyss had said it in a letter, and Will had said it while Alyss was in her trance like state from Keren. However, neither of them had said it legitimately yet. " I love you too Alyss" Will said with more confidence than her had ever felt. Will rode towards Seacliff Fief, waving a goodbye but never turning back as he always did.
