Note: Ficlet written for the Veronica Mars Drabble-a-thon.
Summary: Wallace likes to think of himself as Veronica's personal James Bond.
Wallace is no James Bond. Not that he'd want to be. Unlike most young guys, Wallace never understood the allure of the James Bond movies. Yeah, the guy shoots stuff up and saves the day just in time to get the girl, but that's it. He never does anything else. The movies are so predictable, and Wallace just doesn't do predictable.
Wallace is still glad he met Veronica Mars on his first day of school. She's never predictable. And Veronica never bought in to the James Bond fandom either. At least that's what she likes to tell people. After catching a late night Bond marathon together on TV, Wallace knows better. Veronica admires James Bond.
Wallace likes to think of himself as Veronica's own personal James Bond sometimes. Without the womanizing and such. Wallace never told Veronica that, but when he opens up his present from her on his birthday, the irony of the James Bond box set isn't lost on him.
Best friends just know things about each other no one else ever could.
