It was her nightmare! Now it was their reality.

It had started so innocently. Purely by accident, Vala had been shocked, sending her body and mind into overdrive. Reawakening that part of her that had been hidden! Driven to the depths of her memory! That glorious time when she commanded respect and brought fear to those under her!

Now she was back! And wanted what she had lost.

"I don't understand? How could this have happened?" Daniel asked, the space around him wearing out from where he had been pacing.

Doctor Lam shook her head. Everyone in the briefing room turned their heads towards Colonel Reynolds. SG3 had been with Vala at the time, just taking her eyes off her for one moment. One moment had been enough. But that hadn't been the end of it. Vala's transformation had almost been instantaneous. Having tragic consequences for a member of his team! He was still in the infirmary, in a coma. He wasn't the only fatality. And that's why Daniel couldn't sit down.

Sam looked up, knowing how he felt, but powerless to help.

"How could you have let her get away?" he asked.

Reynolds shook his head.

"It all happened so quickly. One minute she was fine, then she..."

"Shot a member of your team and then took another hostage." Landry added.

It was true! Major Thorn was in the infirmary and someone close to them had been taken.

"I don't understand any of this!" Daniel said. "Why would she take my wife?"

Neither of them wanted to say it. All knowing the hostility between Shelley and Vala! But they were doing their best to get along and for the most part, they did.

"We have to find them!"

"I agree," Doctor Lam said. "We have no way to determine what state Vala is in."

Reynolds shook his head.

"I think it's going to be worse than that!"

"What do you mean?" Landry asked.

Colonel Reynolds cleared his throat, beginning to get nervous.

"When we were trying to stop her, she didn't call herself Vala. She said her name was Qetesh,"

Daniel shook his head. This was the worst day of his life and if he didn't find them, it would get even worse, if it was at all possible.
