Her hand impeccably laced with his own as the two dawdled along the dirt route towards the campground. The day was striking, with warm sun shining through, and a peaceful sensation looming through the atmosphere. It was one of those days in which anyone could truly live, and not worry about fighting or the current affair with any endangerments.
Her soft hum resonated around the two, shadowing the footsteps that their boots formed amidst the dirt. Lon'qu gazed from the corner of his eyes to the young blonde, whose lips coiled upward into a luminous smile, eyes slid shut, and cheeks highlighted with a reddish hue. Lissa cutely swung their hands back and forth in a rhythmic motion, releasing a lovely giggle every few steps or so. The sight of her brought warmth within his chest, and it never failed in making him flush – she was the epitome of perfection through his eyes, and his world. His every thought was consumed by her, and everything he done at this point forward was for her.
"It's such a lovely day, won't you agree, Lon'qu?" Lissa finally spoke, interrupting her hums.
It was then that the myrmidon cocked his head over to his left to bring his full attention to the blonde royal, unable to hide the small grin painting his mouth. Impulsively, his large hand rewarded her own small one with a soft squeeze. "Indeed. But the admiration that I would have for this day would ever not reach the admiration I hold for you."
Her response was uncalled for, as she had fumbled within her own two feet. His answer virtually caught her off guard. Whoa. That was one of the sweetest things he had ever said to her, and for a slight second, it made her gawk in bashfulness. Unfortunately, her low guard caused her to trip clumsily, sensing gravity take its outcome among her body. Crap… It felt like forever, but she awaited the slam to the dirt that her body would meet.
Immediately, Lon'qu tugged her up with his hand holding hers, using the other one to wrap it around her waist and pull her against his chest. He momentarily glared at the ground, as if it were to blame for Lissa's sudden tangle of her own boots, sighing. "Lissa," he muttered, gazing down, "for Naga's sake, please watch your step."
She took a moment, but finally peered up, hoping that she didn't upset him, but all she saw was his grin – which was lowering down. Huh? That grin now pressed to her forehead, planting a chaste kiss of admiration.
"Clumsy thing," he mumbled quietly against her skin. "I can't leave you be, can I."
"I guess not…" Lissa found herself giggling once more as her small arms snaked around his torso, tiptoeing up to press her face into his broad chest, successfully emitting a grunt out of the swordsman.
That giggle widened his grin as he returned the embrace, planting one kiss on her temple, then her hair. The love he felt for this woman was very strong, and inevitable. "Hn." Lon'qu held her in his arms as the two stood in the middle of the path, enjoying the picture-perfect day, and simply living.
