A/N: Well, here does another one-shot… All thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Disclaimer: Just a girl who most certainly does not own Doctor Who.

Burning up Blue

Dark blue.

The sky, he means. Dark blue.

Even with all the words in the dictionary (and he means more than just the Earth one), he can't describe the sight before him.

There's almost nothing but dark blue; that perfect shade. And her. Rose.

She's the one thing that interrupts the sky on this calm planet. Or maybe it's the sky interrupting her.

For the blue outlines her shape, her familiar face, blond hair. She smiles cheekily at him, calling out, "Oi!" and waving her hand for him to catch up.

And time slows down. He can count the milliseconds, the seconds. He can't let it go to minutes, and already he's walking towards her.

She doesn't know what he's thinking, and so he thinks it.

This is a calm planet. Just Rose and the Doctor. He says his name and hers in his mind, then thinks, just them.

Just them. Here, and this dark blue, and only them.

The world could be burning and he thinks he would still see this image of her.

He can sense a million things at once, the planet turning, the stars blinking and going out, one by one. But he cuts it off, and thinks just them.

But only for a second.

Then he lets time catch up again, gathering Rose's hand in his, grinning, and he lets himself ramble about how the planet got to be this color. But he doesn't care, and neither does she.

They wander about in this dark blue, and he can hear himself think clearly.

If only this was forever.

He can just imagine them, walking hand in hand, towards nothing and everything.

But time can't slow down—he knows that better than anyone. Because he's the Doctor, and she's Rose, and oh, this dark blue can't last forever.

But it doesn't stop him from wishing.

A/N: So how did it turn out? ;) I'm quite sure what my thought process was in this, but hey, you can never have enough Doctor Who.

Review if you please.
