Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
Notes: I haven't written a Hinata Gaara story or drabble in a long time, and last night as I watched a movie, whose title escapes me, I noticed one of the main characters was a redhead. He look nothing like Gaara besides the hair but when he said to the woman that he loves her I thought 'Gaara wouldn't say that her,' and thus this came to my mind.

I Can't Love You,
His hand barely cupped her cheek, almost like a ghost touch, but she could feel the softness of his skin.
Her pale lavender eyes looked eerily silver in the full moonlight, she looked up into his teal eyes, they looked darker than normal but they were perfect for him.
His short red hair moved just the littlest bit in the gentle winds as Hinata's indigo blue hair swayed around her face making her skin seem paler than usual.
His eyes held a tiny amount of pity and sadness, and Hinata knew that he must be trying to hide it. Hers held love and kindness for the man standing in front of her.
He whispered, his words as calloused as they normally were, in other words, blunt, "I can't love you, I can't love you like you love me." He said.
The gentle winds settled down after sending his words across to her small ears, her heart was breaking, it had been frayed to the point where is anyone touched it, it would turn to ashes and fall apart.
She hoped her eyes did betray her feelings as she tried to be strong, "I can protect you but I can never show you love, do you want to continue?" he asked her, the words would have sounded cold and harsh to someone who didn't know Gaara well, Hinata knew what the words meant.
'I can show you my love in ways that would seem strange and creepy sometimes but I can't show it beautifully like you show me yours.'
Those were the words he wanted to use, Hinata knew that, but he couldn't.
She gave a small smile, "Y-yes," she whispered to him.
The sadness slowly retreated from his amazing coldish eyes but the pity stayed and shined brightly at her making her feel a little sick.
"I-I want t-to be w-with you." Even as she spoke the words, that were true, she couldn't help but feel her own sadness weighing her down, soon she knows she'll be drowning and no one will be able to save her but him.
The corners of his lips twitched as he bent his head down to hers and kissed her shyly.
End of drabble, written by Jessica.
