A/N: Okay, I have no idea where this came from and its not great by any standards, but, hey, another story! This one takes part a year after the kiss, assuming the on call room sex, Addie moving to LA, Izzie and cancer all didnt happen. Please review and let me know if you think this isn't awful (cause i do)!
Rumour has it, Alex Karev was shirtless in the NICU. It was all round the hospital and was basically all the female, and some of the male, members of staff could talk about. They say he is shirtless with a new born on his chest. His, apparently, very toned, very very nice hot chest. It was enough to get any woman's ovaries going into overdrive. They say that every female member of staff was finding an excuse to go to the NICU, just for a sneak peak of this sight.
Rumour has it Addison Montgomery was perhaps the only woman in the whole of the hospital who was not gossiping about shirtless Alex Karev. In fact people would go as far as to say she was disinterested, or maybe even avoiding the whole thing. Addison Montgomery was one of the very few women in the hospital who had a legitimate reason for being in the NICU. And she had not be see anywhere in the vicinity of it since the gossip started.
Rumour has it that last year there was a kiss in a bar between them. That's what the nurses are saying and the nurses are usually right. All the staff have seen the flirting between the two whenever they're together, less frequent since the rumoured 'kiss' and since he was no longer on her service, but still there.
Rumour has it that there was deeper feelings there. The interns have this theory that they are in love but exes, plastic surgeons and hospital hierarchy keep getting in the way. The attendings say its just sexual tension. The residents believe they are in the middle of a secret relationship. But that's all just gossip.
Rumour has it a consult is needed in the NICU and Addison Montgomery needs to make her way up there. And by some miracle only necessary personnel is in there. By necessary, it was of course shirtless Alex Karev with a new born. The nurses who walked by as Addison entered swears she saw her face turn the same colour as her red hair when her gaze travelled over his body. A lab technician who happened to wander by for a glimpse swear she saw Addison stuttering when she spoke to him. The staff all laughed at that; no one believed the great Dr Montgomery would ever stutter.
Rumour has it that when he put the newborn down, Addison walked (fell) straight into his (naked) chest. A resident who had come to check on a premie swears he held Addison in his arms against his (naked) chest for far longer than appropriate. The intern assisting on the case tells everyone he saw Alex smell her hair.
Rumour has it that there was a date happening in Joe's between a certain redheaded attending and a (now fully dressed) resident. An attending having a drink at the time, said he tucked her hair behind her ear. The group of interns sat in the next booth claim she was the one who kissed him first but the anaesthesiologist at the table opposite swears he was the one who fisted his hand in her hair and kissed her first. Either way, everyone at the hospital is talking about the (apparently, second) kiss between the pair.
Rumour has it Addison Montgomery and Alex Karev are a couple. They kiss and hold hands, and everyone at the nurses station at 11am one morning swears they have sex in on call rooms. The interns say they heard the L-word one day and residents say they heard whispers of moving in together.
Rumour has it that Addison Montgomery and Alex Karev were happy.
