Here's a point of view of what William was thinking and feeling when he got a surprise visitor when he was in the jail cell! BTW loved the season 11 premiere of Murdoch Mysteries! Enjoy!
….
I am still sitting in this crummy, smelly cell; I keep thinking about the flashback 5 years ago
when Julia was arrested for teaching women about birth control. That was when she was
married to Darcy. I begin praying that Julia and the inspector will be found safe and sound. I
also pray that if I am sentenced to hang…I thank God for an extraordinary life I have been
given. Even though I had a rotten childhood, I am thankful for becoming a devout Catholic and I
have an amazing wife, that I have loved from the moment I layed my eyes on her. For giving me
such a loyal friend such as George.
For the inspector, being a father figure to me, for Detective Watts and his service to helping me.
I continued praying when I hear the jail cell door open. I cross myself, but I don't look up, I just
remain siting on this smelly, hard bed. Man do I miss Julia and I's bed.
It's Higgins I can feel him looking at me and someone is here with him.
"Detective? Someone to see you." Higgins says
"Is it Detective Watts?" I asked without looking up.
"No"
"Then send them away."
"I think you're gonna want to see this person, sir." Higgins said
I rolled my eyes and look up hesitantly and Higgins had a smile on his face. Who could this person be?
Higgins goes to the other door and keeps a lookout. The mystery person takes off his hat and
looks through the bars at me.
IT'S JULIA IN DISGUISE! OH THANK GOD SHE'S ALIVE!
She looks at me with her gorgeous blue eyes; my gosh does she look good in a wig and glasses.
"William" she said with a smile
"Julia?" I look up at her and get up and go to her.
"Oh, thank God. You're safe."
"As can be." She says with a smile.
"I thought…" I was about to say I thought you were dead. I prayed and prayed that you were safe, but she cut me off.
"I know, but I'm alive and I'm well."
I looked at her even closer up and down, "you've changed" I said with a smile.
She laughs "we'll get through this, William."
"Yes, now that we're together, we certainly will."
I look at her and lean in and she leans in and we kiss. The best kiss we had since the last time I
saw her. Her lips were soft, but the mustache tickled me, but I didn't care, she was safe and
sound. I didn't even hear the Higgins saying the door was opening and someone was coming. I
was too distracted with the kiss.
"Someone's coming" Higgins said
Julia steps back and puts her hat and gives me a smile. I smile back at her. I keep looking at her
when she goes to the door and looks back and it looked like she was going to say I love you, but I
just nodded and smiled. She smiled back and left. I sit back down on the bed and pray a little
again and thank God she's alright. I do a sign of the cross when Detective Watts comes in.
"Detective Murdoch?"
"Yes, what is it Watts?"
"Williams wants to see you…uhh…your solicitor, where is he?"
I was about to say it was Julia in disguise, but I have to keep up the ruse that she's still missing,
so I won't be hanged.
"Oh, he said he would come back. He had other important matters to intend." I said
"I see, well come on, I'm taking you to see Miss Marsh and Williams."
Detective Watts got me out if the cell and took me to see Miss Marsh and Williams.
