Cole stood on the balcony of the penthouse, staring down at the now-darkened city of San Francisco.
He was thinking about Phoebe. Hell, she was the only thing he ever thought about. He loved her, and she claimed to hate him. Without her, he was slowly going insane. But still, he knew that he had to let her go. He knew he had to let her just live her life.
Cole left the balcony, and took the elevator down to the ground floor of the building, knowing what he had to do. After a long walk, he reached the Halliwell manor. The house that Phoebe and he had shared so many moments in.
The half demon walked up to the front stoop. It took him a full minute to bring himself to ring the doorbell.
Phoebe was the one that answered it, "Cole? What the hell are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to talk to you," he answered, "Please."
She didn't know why, but she let him inside. They walked into the living room, and sat down.
"Well, you wanted to talk. I'm listening."
"I-I want to tell you that I'm not going to bother you with my presence anymore," Cole told her, "I'm…just going to leave."
"What?"
"Phoebe…. I'm sorry for what I did to you. I never wanted to hurt you. I-I love you so much…and I always wanted you to be happy, and that's why I'm leaving. So you can get on with your life."
"Where will you go?" Phoebe asked, feeling bad for him.
Tears where streaming down his face.
"I-I don't know," he answered, his eyes closed, "Far. New York, maybe…"
Phoebe slowly reached up, and wiped away his tears.
He opened his eyes, looking at her.
"I love you, too, Cole…" she whispered.
"What…"
"Shh…I love you, too," Phoebe repeated, "And I don't want you to go. We've been through so much together. I don't want to just give it all up."
They thought about how much they had gone through….and realized that they were meant to be together….
