It was the summer after Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts School
of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He had been invited to stay at his best friend
Ron's house. Ron was a Weasley; the bright red hair was proof of that.
Every Weasley had bright red hair. Every Weasley also had second-hand
robes and books. Harry thought this was unfortunate for the Weasleys. He
thought this was endearing, however, for the youngest.
Harry smiled as he thought about her. Ginny. He adored everything about her. Her radiant smile, her lighthearted laughter, her deep, thoughtful brown eyes...Just thinking about her eyes, Harry imagined himself getting lost in them. He stared directly in front of him as though Ginny were right there.
Then Harry realized that Ginny really was right there. He shook himself out of his stupor and smiled at her. She smiled back, and Harry suddenly found it very hard to breathe. Harry forced himself to look away from her before he began staring. It was a beautiful day: the sky was a bright blue and there were a few fluffy white clouds here and there. The sun was shining brightly and there were soft breezes every now and then.
Harry looked back over at Ginny. He smiled when he realized that right now, where he stood, he was secluded with the girl of his dreams. He was in a small tree-lined field behind the Weasley's house. He could not help himself; he took a step toward her.
At first, Ginny looked a little apprehensive. Harry stopped moving and just looked at her. After a while, Ginny tilted her head to the side and looked up at Harry. He found it quite unbearable to see the girl of his dreams looking at him so cutely that he had to move. He slowly took another step toward her. This time Ginny smiled.
Harry smiled back and continued to walk toward her. When he was within reach, he took hold of one of her hands. She looked up into his eyes inquisitively, as if to ask what was going on. He looked back into her eyes and got lost again. After a while Harry realized that he was getting rather close to her. He reluctantly took his eyes off of hers. He looked down at the ground at first, but after a while he lifted his eyes up to her face.
Just then a breeze blew by, playing with her hair. A few strands fell in her face, and Harry thought that he had never seen her look more beautiful. He lifted up his free hand to brush it away. When his fingers brushed across her forehead, he realized exactly what he felt for the girl standing in front of him.
"I am in love with you, Ginny," he whispered.
Ginny smiled at him and brought her face up to his. In the moment their lips met, they both knew that their lives would be forever changed.
