For Morgan :3 (sorry it's so short XD)
He was awake. Again. Killian stared up at the ceiling, breathing deeply to try and convince his body he was tired. Nope. Wasn't working tonight. His gaze flicked to the woman curled in his side, her hair splayed out over his chest and the pillow. Even in sleep she was utterly flawless. Mhari Stuart had captured his heart before he even realised it and refused to give it back (such a stubborn one), not that he minded. He was perfectly content being head over heels in love with her. What was there that he couldn't love? Everything about her was just... stunning. Like how she just seemed to make the room glow when she smiled (goddamn her smile, it would be the death of him), or how just hearing her laugh made a smile curl at his lips. She was his everything.
"It's a shame you don't realise how perfect you are," he murmured quietly, knowing full well she couldn't hear him. "No matter how hard I insist, you still believe that some part of you is flawed. You believe you are broken. But even if you are, don't you know that broken shards can still make vibrant and beautiful stain-glass windows? You brought colour into my world of grey, you brought sunshine in my life of darkness, heck, you took the heart I didn't think still worked and made it beat again," Killian chuckled, running his fingers through the tips of her raven hair. Mhari stirred slightly, shifting her position so an arm wrapped around his waist and she was moved closer to him.
"Somehow you came into my life and changed everything. At first I didn't understand what happened, I'd been here so long I'd forgotten what it felt to love someone. I didn't understand why every time I saw you, my stomach would flutter. I didn't know why your smile made my heart jump and skip. I hadn't had love in so long that I didn't get that what I felt was love. Weird, right? You'd think that someone would always remember what that felt like - what it was like to have a reason to carry on each day, to have someone love you even with everything you'd done. You are that person, Mhari Stuart. You've made me into a person I didn't know existed, a better man. God only knows how you did it, love, it's a challenge not even I managed to complete." in all honesty, he didn't know why he was talking in the dark to her, especially since she was asleep and couldn't hear it. It was what he needed to get off his chest. It was so still in the room, maybe that helped, the fact that for once there was nothing else to do, it was just in this moment.
"Gods I love you, Mhari, so so much. And if you are secretly awake, then good, because you've heard everything I've been meaning to say for a long while." the Captain pressed a kiss to her forehead, closing his eyes. Sleep seemed to find him easily this time, he was snoring gently before he knew it, a soft smile on his face.
