Flashing lights.
Throbbing pain across my body.
Coldness.
My eyes flash open and my hand snaps automatically to my waist where usually the comfortable weight of a Para-Ordnance P14 Limited rested. Finding nothing but the sheet from my shower, my eyes snap up. I was laying on the floor of my bathroom.
"Ah..." I wince and sit up, pressing my hands to my temples, trying to press back the flashbacks from three months ago. Umbrella had knocked me out in my bathroom because of an outbreak of the T-Virus in the Hive, the 'small' research centre built underground under Raccoon City
Finally the images of gore and violence faded, and I pushed myself upright, keeping the shower curtain around me. It was obvious that they chose a different gas to knock me out this time, seeing as the images of the horrors of The Hive were still fresh in my mind. I easily found my weapon belt and pulled one of my Para-Ordnance's out. Instinct guided me to point the gun at the ceiling, and I trusted it. My instinct had saved my ass a lot of times before. My ears picked up a slight rustling, prompting me to change my stance. This was an action that seemed to trigger another flashback, this time of the monstrous lickers that, which the aid of Matt, I had killed in the train escaping. I couldn't press my hands to my temples this time, as a louder rustle came, closer.
A low clink made me turn my head slightly, but I kept the opening where the rustling was coming from in sight. A grenade? Maybe a gas one... I put my hand over my nose and mouth, and briefly looked around for something more substantial to block any potential gases. I wasn't that keen on being knocked out again.
Another rustle drew my attention back up. The grenade, I could do nothing about. The thing in the ceiling, that I could shoot. Obviously there was a person around, as there was no way a zombie could throw anything – the most they were capable of was holding a weapon like an axe. Instinct made me jump backwards, and then crouch. Then the 15ft long licker fell through the plaster and roared at me, flicking it's monstrously long tongue at me. I rolled to avoid it and shot at the exposed brain. It snarled and lunged at me, opening its mouth to bite me. Shooting twice down it's throat in quick succession, I slid down the wall and pushed off, sliding under it firing up the whole time. A hand grasps my shoulder and pulls me roughly upright. I start to turn, but the look on his -very handsome- face, made me return the muzzle of my gun to the licker, now on the ceiling. Adrenaline was pumping through my system, bring the rest of my memories back, rendering me mostly useless. This didn't seem to bother him, as he whipped out a pair of guns and shot rapidly at the licker as it crawled across the ceiling to us. My eyes widened as the heat of flames burst past my shoulder towards the creature, killing it. He dragged me from under the falling flaming corpse, landing in the bathtub with me on top. He was wearing body armour and a coarse black shirt. He flipped his golden brown hair from his eyes.
"The name's Leon S Kennedy. Yours?"
"Alice"
