Lusaka moved forward following in the footsteps of the Black Templar in front of him. In the mist air of the swamp the Black Templar were hazed images of ghosts. Lusaka gripped his shotgun tightly, sensing something new in the air. The neophyte looked around for his tutor and friend Brother Kilkion Finally Lusaka's eyes rested upon the Initiates power armour and so he relaxed a little. The squad continued to move forwards slowly.
After a few minuets of advancing through the seemingly never ending swap, the Squad captain made the unit take cover. As Lusaka took refuge behind a large and unfamiliar tree, an explosion occurred knocking two Initiates to the floor, before they could rise to their feet plasma shots had ended their lives. Within second the squad returned fire into the dark trees unable to spot the enemy. Plasma shot was fired again this time unable to kill the targets. Lusaka new this was a bad situation, Tau stealth suits had them pinned, if the Black Templar stayed like this, their blood would soak the earth under their feet.
The squad captain signalled to everyone that they were to move forwards using cover. Lusaka obeyed this command by crawling forward to several different trees, while the squad did this plasma fire rained down upon them. Lusaka froze behind his latest tree, he need to breath and to think through his next move, while paused there was a crack to his left, looking up he saw a shimmer in the air, adrenalin took hold and he ran out placing the shot gun at head height and fired. In the following flash off blood a Tau stealth suit fell to the floor, the suit was in tact and undamaged over than the absence of a head, it would make for a useful research example but before he could continue this thought a plasma shot clipped is armour on his left shoulder sending him spinning to the ground and as he fell his shotgun was sent flying through the air into a near by bog.
Lusaka lay in the mud motionless for a moment trying to get his straight. When he was ready he reached over and grabbed the Tau gun and crawled back behind the tree. Looking out from there he saw two more Black Templar had fallen. Then taking a deep breath he looked out and round the tree and saw a Tau stealth suit slumped against a tree with a huge hole in the centre of its stomach. Lusaka raised the alien gun and fired it sending several plasma shots in the direction of where the enemy fire was coming from, suddenly a stealth suit appeared and fell to the floor. The firing ended, the skirmish was won. Lusaka dropped the gun and moving in to check one of the fallen Black Templar, he picked up his bolter and checked it was in working order, it was.
Lusaka and the rest of the squad moved forwards leaving the dead Tau and Black Templar to be dealt with by the unit's apothecary. The squad still had a mission to complete. That mission was to find the Tau's main base and report it to the rest of the Black Templar; the Tau knew this and had sent out those Stealth suits to stall the squad, so they now moved double the speed to make-up for it. The squad had to do what the Emperor wished. Lusaka checked that Brother Kilkion was still with them, he felt relived when he spotted the Armour of Kilkion's near the front of the unit. So they continued.
