Silentbrooke saw her. Flicking his tail ever so slightly she kept her green eyes on Twilightmist. From a distance she would admire her. From a distance Silentbrooke would watch the she-cat he treasured so dearly drift farther and farther away. Thymetail had a sudden interest in Twilightmist once she became a warrior. Thinking of the tom made Silentbrooke growl in his throat. A short period of time Silentbrooke had Twilightmist in his grasp, but the Thymetail stole her. At that moment Twilightmist was with Thymetail, her black and white fur glistened in the Greenleaf sunlight. Thymetail was a terrible orange that had a sort of brown mixed in that made Silentbrooke think of crowfood.
"Silentbrooke!" Twilightmist called. Silentbrooke came out of his thoughtful trance and lifted his ears. "I am going on a hunting patrol, would you like to come?" Contemplating the offer Silentbrooke could only think of one reason for the answer no.
"Will Thymetail be there?" Silentbrooke asked coolly. Twilightmist shook her head.
"Nope, only you and me," Twilightmist looked at him with her blue eyes looking at him hopefully. Unable to resist her he sighed and nodded. Hunting was not his specialty. Diplomacy was more Silentbrooke's style. Articulating words and playing messenger tom. Twilightmist beckoned for Silentbrooke to follow with her tail. If one were to look just right they would see one of Silentbrooke's rare smiles.
Hunting was a total disaster. Silentbrooke startled all the prey away so they ended up together on Sunningrocks that was currently in the possession of Thunderclan. Twilightmist felt comfortably close to Silentbrooke. Her body pressed against his, which sent a shot of warmth through Silentbrooke.
"I pick you Silentbrooke," Twilightmist whispered softly. Ears swiveling backward Silentbrooke looked over at Twilightmist. He narrowed his yellow eyes slightly.
"What do you mean?" He hissed.
"I want you Silentbrooke. Not Thymetail," Twilightmist told him sounding rather hurt. Silentbrooke hissed loudly.
"I'm rather glad that it took you this long to realize how valuable I am," Silentbrooke stood up. Twilightmist stood up as well and stared at Silentbrooke with wide eyes. Roughly Silentbrooke smacked her across the cheek with sheathed claws. With a yowl Twilightmist fell over the side of Sunningrocks, her head smashing into a rock. Blood seeped from her skull, Silentbrooke's eyes widened with horror. No real harm was intended, perhaps he hadn't realized how much force he had put behind his blow. Laying beside Twilightmist he gently licked her fur whispering softly. "Wake up, please wake up. Oh you will wake up. I know it! Just wake up."
She never did.
