Happy New Year, a rent fanfic

Author's Notes: This is another companion/follow up story from Hopelessly In Love. This one was inspired by the commentary from the film. I've watched bits and pieces of it, and I was at the New Years part and I wasn't sure if it was Chris or Anthony who stated: "And there's Mark alone," so thanks to fanfictiion our Marky won't be alone! And I hope I got his famous line right... I'm still quit new. Still learning so forgive me or correct me if I'm wrong! Oh, and Angel is alive in this because I said so!

Decemeber 31st, 11:55 pm Eastern Standered Time...

Mark zoomed in around him at all his friend. They were all with their lover. The bohos were celebrating New Years, as they did every year. However, this year was different. The filmmaker turned to Phoebe. She smiled and waved at the camera. "Happy New Year Mark."

He smiled. "We still got a little while."

"Well, I can still wish you an early Happy New Year can't I?" she pouted.

Oh lord, the pout. Mark laughed. She was so cute when she pouted.

"So tell me, whats your New Year's resolution?" he asked.

"To get one of my books published would be nice." she answered. "What about you?"

"Good luck with him answering that one!" Maureen said. "I tried to ask him and he totally blew me off."

The filmmaker turned to Maureen. "I'm sorry you distracted me. I was worried you were going to break my camera."

"Guys! It"s time!" Collins shouted

They started the countdown:

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Cheers and whistles rang out through the street. Everyone exchanged a kiss and embrace with the one they had. Mimi and Roger. Collins and Angel. Benny and Allison. Maureen and Joanne... Mark embraced Phoebe happily and the two exchanged a passionate kiss. "Happy New Year," Mark whispered in Phoebe's ear.

"You too." she embraced him again. "So, are you going to tell me what your resolution is?"

"I really don't have one... Mine is already done." Mark stated with a smile. "The reason why I didn't answer Maureen's question last year is because I didn't want anyone to know that I wanted to fall in love and be loved in return, and I have... with you."

"AWW!" Roger cried out. "We heard you!"

"You know Mark, maybe you should be the song writer, you're better with words." Mimi teased.

"Not funny Meems." Roger said playfully.

"Kiss here again all ready will you?" Joanne asked. "You don't want to keep the girl waiting."

"YEAH! GIVE HER A KICK ASS LIP LOCK!" Maureen urged the two on again.

"Nicely put drama queen." Mark retorted.

She stuck out her tounge at him and started to chant: "Kiss her, kiss her!" Which caused the others to follow. Mark and Phoebe gladly obliged. They cheered their friends on because this year Mark wasn't alone, and neither was Phoebe. Everyone knew this was going to be one of hell of a good year!
