Disclaimer- Yeah, I got the ownership of Criminal Minds. That's why all I own is a Nintendo DS. So I don't own CM, duh.

A/N- Woohoo! I'm back with another story about Reid! Except now, he's fifteen years old! Yay, young Spencer! This is an oneshot, so don't worry about me forgetting to update. Um, this story may be a bit sad, so you know. Well, enough with meaningless rants. On to the story! ; )

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fifteen year old Spencer Reid smiled to himself. It was spring break from college, and he had decided to visit home. Though it was hard to admit to himself, he missed his mother, a history professor. Ever since his father's death, her health had steadily declined, and leaving at 13 years old for college had been hard for them. But, Spencer was extremely glad to be home.

For 15, he was extremely small. Not so much in height, but in weight. That caused merciless teasing and beatings from much older and larger students.

Spencer got off the bus, and walked the short distance between his house and the bus stop.

He frowned as he noticed the front door was wide open. Confused, he stepped into the house and gasped out loud. The place was trashed. There were clothes, garbage, and furniture scattered everywhere.

On further exploration, Spencer found his mother, Lillian, on the floor, mumbling to herself.

He murmured, "Mom!" as he slid to his knees next to her. She didn't even acknowledge his presence.

"Mom? It's me. Spencer."

Lillian slowly turned and faced him.

"Who?" she asked, before mumbling inaudibly to herself some more.

Taken aback, Spencer stared at her, trying to figure what was wrong with her. He had seen her drunk before, but this was different. Unfortunately, Spencer knew how drugs affected Lillian, and once again, this was different.

"Mom? What's wrong with you?" he asked, giving up on trying figuring out what was wrong.

She glared at him, and before he could react, backhanded him hard enough to send him flying backward into the door.

Gasping primarily from the pain, but also from the shock of Lillian using violence against him. Spencer stared at his mother with wide eyes.

She slowly stood up, and, after a moment of silence, screamed, "Make them stop!"

Spencer yelled, suddenly scared of her, "Make what stop?"

"The voices! Oh, god, the voices!" she screamed, sliding to the floor, sobbing.

Spencer watched his beloved mother break down, astonished. This woman, the one so caring and confident, was completely broken. Her mentality was shattered, and Spencer could only watch.

The young genius crawled over to Lillian, and vainly tried to comfort her, for the thousandth time. Only this time, she never pulled herself back together.

THE END

A/N- So, what did you think? Tell me, I'd love to know! Was it angsty enough? (Hey, I just made up a word!) Well, I hope you liked it.
