Pioneers of the Sky

They dare say we are wrong,
they dare say we are right.
For what we stand for is beyond,
our own might.
We stand for that greater than ourselves,
for that which means more than our lives.
We stand for a cause, a purpose,
a reason.
We stand up against those whom
wish to cause us harm.
To those whom wish to watch
the destruction of our will.

They can take away our ship,
They can take away our ranks,
They can take away our wealth,
They can take away our happiness,/em/p
They can break our bones,
They can break our trust,
They can hiss and they can scream,
But they will never take away our will,
They will never take away our crew.

For we are strong, in unity we find strength
In the unknown we find a path
In the Stars we find our lives.
We stand for those who have not the strength
to stand for themselves.
We rise from the ashes of our
previous destruction.
We make mistakes, we are all flawed.
We learn, we persevere.
We rise above what others thought possible,
what we thought possible.
We strive to do that which has not been accomplished,
to learn that which cannot be learned.

We are more than a ship, more than a crew.

I am more than a Captain, more than a man.

We are the hope of our future, The guides to a better tomorrow.

We are the explorers of the unknown,

The pioneers of the Stars.
We are the Columbus's of the Sky
Travelling at Warp speed to discover more.

They told us Space was the Final Frontier.
They told us, nothing was beyond it.
Though wrong I say they are,
And wrong they shall continue to be.
There is no final frontier,
For time itself is a Frontier we have
yet to conquer.
There are thousands of Frontiers:

Awaiting our discovery.

They dare say we are right,
They dare say we are wrong.
We stand for something more than you,
More than I.
We stand for diversity, for equal rights.
We stand for strength, to fight with all our might.
We seem but a small number of people,
Oh what can they do?
We have the ability to change our galaxy,
Our world
And so do you.

I know this is bad, it is my first poem, and no it is not meant to rhyme. Thank you for reading, I accept all suggestions for future stories and/or poems. My story writing is much better than my poetry, forgive me.
