Chapter 1

Its been a month since I became a runner. Its has been fun but exhausting and the keeper is very nice to me, but I keep on thinking that we were somehow connected in the past like we were siblings. I was entering the maze when he came up behind.

"you be careful," says Minho.

"you know me coach, I'm always careful'' I say with a cheerful smile.

"well, I'll see you around OK"

"OK"

I ran inside the maze pulling vines and making quick notes. I stumbled across a few runners but, we just keep on running. it was noon when i decided to take a break. I sat down and opened my lunch bag. in there was some meat,a piece of loaf, water and apple. It's not the best but, hey, we take whatever we get . As I'm eating my lunch I take a view of my notes but, my mind goes somewhere far. I'm quickly look at my surroundings. I hear noises like a ton of things crawling toward my direction.

Oh man I think this can't be good. Fear awakes my mind and I start racing back from where I came from. They keep on catching up on me pace by pace. I look behind and I see four of them. My eyes widened of fear. I tripped on a rock. I got up really fast and started running again. I looked back and they were much closer. There was only one way I screamed "HELP,ANYBODY PLEASE" I screamed. it was no use. I was already ready to give up . When I heard "RIN !,WHERE ARE YOU". the voice recognizable. It was Minho. "OVER H-" my voice was cut off quickly . the grievers catched up to me and stung pain was unbearable but, I couldn't just stop running and fall. I couldn't let them win. I got stung again and one more time. Now I was screaming, I was starting to get dizzy. Then a spear flew passed me and hit the griever that was still following me. The Griever returned from where it came from.

"Are you OK" then paused seeing that I got stung " no your definitely not OK" he picked me up and started running, while he was doing this I was saying nonsense.

" don't you dare die on me Rin" he said.

but darkness soon came to me and I passed out.
