I gaze out at the rain with a big grin. You know, the one I seem to be famous for. Rain always happens when my life turns for the better. Then again, I suppose that's not too surprising given I live in London, and my life has had very few negative turns.

It rained when I was born, my mom said.

It rained when my dad came home after a crash.

It rained when I cuddled with Tugger for the first time.

It rained when I went on my first date with Tumblebrutus.

It rained during my first kiss.

It rained when my best friend forgave me for kissing her tomfriend when I was drunk.

It rained when Pouncival asked me to mate with him.

Sometimes, you wish you could stay a kitten forever. Laughing and joking and playing. The little things that you can't do when you're grown up. Sometimes, you just don't want to turn away your childhood for the dim outlook of adulthood. That's how I was feeling. Until this very moment. When it started to rain.

The rain curtains a childhood. It blurs everything from sight, sound, and even smell. It pulls the curtain on my childhood, and I can see my mate, and my kitten, and the happiness we will have. I look over at my mate and grin.

"You and your rain, Etcy," he says lovingly. I nuzzle him.

"I love the rain."
