This is pretty random... but I need to write or I'll explode... The italics are flash backs, fyi, and this is super angsty.

"I'll be going now..." Hikaru murmured to himself, setting the sharp end of the razor against the pale skin of his left arm.

"Hikaru, please listen to me."

He hesitated, the razor barely touching his skin, barely drawing blood, as her sweet voice entered his mind, touched his heart, slackened his resolve.

"Please, Hikaru... Please..."

She had cried when he had told her that he couldn't live, not when she was with Tamaki. Not when he couldn't have her. Not when he was here, alone, without her warmth by his side and without Kaoru's warmth. He couldn't. He was too alone to consider it.

"I'm going to America with Mother.. to study fashion."

Kaoru wasn't here. He wasn't dead, but he wasn't here. Didn't Kaoru realize how much Hikaru needed him? Especially now, now that Haruhi had gotten together with Tamaki. Now that Haruhi had rejected the love he had put forth, and taken what Tamaki offered. Hadn't Kaoru seen this coming? Hadn't he though, just once, that Hikaru would need him when Haruhi mad her choice?

Apparently not.

"What are you saying to upset Haruhi?"

Tamaki had burst into the room that they were speaking in, and had been furious when he saw that Haruhi was in tears. He had turned on Hikaru, and struck him hard in the face, leaving Hikaru with a bruised cheek and a black eye.

Hikaru hadn't cared.

Haruhi had.

But Hikaru didn't care about that either.

He had walked away, and Haruhi had yelled, calling after him, ordering Tamaki to let her go.

"If he wants to die, let him!"

"I won't let my best friend die! I won't!"

Any resolve Hikaru had left crumpled. He didn't want to die either. He wanted to live, and be with her. Be with her, who wasn't his, but Tamaki's. That's what he wanted.

But he wasn't lucky enough to receive what he wanted so badly. He clutched the razor in his hand hard, the sharp blade digging into his flesh, causing blood to pool across his palm and onto the pristine floor.

He sighed and relaxed, closing his eyes. "Good night..." he murmured.

I'll be going now.
