This is a story that's been in my head for a while. If you've seen a story like this before I didn't get the idea from that story. I don't remember how I came up with it.
First there are some things I would like to say.
1st there are pairings but they are not determined yet and might change through the course of the story.
2nd none of the pairings are yaoi or yuri.
3rd there are OCs because I couldn't use people from Iwa or Kiri or Kumo cause not enough people have been shown from there so there will be OCs
4th there are spoilers to the manga so unless you keep up with the manga you might not want to read this
5th some things may be changed from the manga. Like let's say they reveal Deidara's past and it conflicts with my story. Then Deidara's past will be different in my story.
6th some of the characters may be different like the leader of Akatsuki may be different or the other unknown member.
7th there will be no foul language in here. I don't say it so I won't type it. The rating is for the violence.
Anyways here it is the prologue of the story of The Great Shinobi War.

Long ago during beginning of the time of the shinobi there was a war. A war that cost many people their lives.
The fighting was between the shinobi. The battle was destroying the villages as it was. The villages eventually fell. The leaders of the 5 Great Shinobi Villages, Kohona, Suna, Kiri, Kumo, and Iwa, met planning a way to end the war.
The Mizukage was gifted with the ability to see the future. He predicted that if they stopped the war now it would end forever.
The leaders went and told the other villages. The fighting ceased.
Later the Great Shinobi Villages where rebuilt. They knew nothing of the war that happened many years earlier.
One day the Shodai Mizukage who was gifted with the ability to see the future also saw that not to far in the future there would be a war, a war that would kill every shinobi.
The news was spread to the other Kages but not the leaders of smaller villages, the kages upon hearing the news stored the information in scrolls so the next one may find out about the war. They were to not tell anyone about the war.
Years later the Sandaime Mizukage who also had the ability to see the future like the Mizukages before him predicated the war was close, during the time of the Godaime Kages.
The scrolls were then marked to only be shown to the Godaime Kage of the village.
Now the time of the Godaime Kages is now here and war is about to begin, the war that will end the time of shinobi, the war that was never supposed to return, the war that was later called The Great Shinobi War.

I know it's not that long but it's just the prologue and a long note on the top about the story. I might not update really fast cause I've only got parts of it thought out. I posted this now because I don't want anyone else to post one like this.
If you want to suggest anything (pairings, OCs, jutsus, anything) during any point in the story you can. I'm open to any ideas for I need some to start this story (don't have beginning planned out).
