Disclaimer: I don't own 'Prince Of Persia'
Summary: The meeting with Dastan trying to convince Tus about the dagger was really 'Take 2'.
"This is no ordinary dagger." Dastan began. "You press the jewel on it's hilt; and you will see."
Dastan sighed, fear clear in his eyes. "I should have had the strength to do this before we invaded the city."
"What are you talking about?"
"To act what I know is right." He said, as if it were obvious. "No matter the consequences."
Dastan raised the dagger high in the air and slammed it down on his ribcage, aiming for his heart. Instead of the sound of torn flesh and cut bone, he head something metal snap.
He fell back in slight pain and knew that his ribs were bruised. He heard a shrill scream and Tamina ran in from the cover of the window and rushed to pick something up. She held it in her hands delicately and was shifting it around in hopes of fixing it.
"You broke the dagger?" Disbelief clear in her voice as she held the two pieces in front of his face. The hilt had snapped right of the blade. "How could you break the dagger?"
Oh shit!
"It's not like I meant too! I was supposed to stab myself not break the dagger!"
"Well, I would have preferred that!"
"Ouch! You wound me, princess, with your careless words!"
"Ahh…" Tus said, at a complete complex as to what to do, his guards seemed to be in a similar state.
"Besides! It's not my fault it's a blunt dagger that snaps!" Dastan continued, ignoring the fact that his older brother was even there.
"You need to be careful with it!"
"Too late for that now, isn't it, princess!"
Tamina tried to stab him with the bade but Dastan twisted it out of her hand before snatching the other half out of her opposite hand.
"Please, let this work." He prayed as he hit the jewelled hilt.
He saw Tamina run backwards to the window, him magically fly off the floor and begin talking to Tus again. Tus walking into the room before being threatened and finally, Dastan about to leave Tamina at the window.
He sighed in relief as time started again. He looked down at his hand and mentally did a happy dance to see the dagger was in one piece.
"I'll keep in mind not to do that again…" Dastan muttered, thinking, maybe his stomach would be a softer place - hopefully the dagger doesn't snap this time.
"Do what?" Tamina questioned, curious.
"Nothing at all."
No one had to know anything.
Take 1 - Fail. Take 2 - About to commence.
