Winter, 1863. In the midst of the Civil War, a small shack stood in the lush forest of pine trees in the newly formed town. Snow was piling, almost to the roof of the shack. Coldness was ever present, even with the fire blazing in the fire place. However, the fire wasn't the only thing giving the couple warmth in their new home. Something else had come, and delivered the couple warmth for the night. It was their newborn child, sitting in his mother's lap. Although the child was crying, he gave extreme happiness to his parents.
"You did it, Mary Ann, you did it!" The newborn's father cried. The tired mother sighed.
"Yes, Joseph, I made it. I was able to give birth to..." Mary Ann started to cough, as the baby continued its first cries.
"Shhhh, its okay. Rest, honey. You've been through a long day." Mary Ann had been through a long day. Nearly 24 hours in labor. The doctors didn't think she would make it. However, Mary Ann was strong, and gave birth to the newborn. Joseph gently lifted up the baby who then had suddenly stopped crying. Mary Ann planted a kiss on the newborn's cheek.
"Good night, William," she said. Joseph placed William into his newly built crib. Joseph slipped into a small sleeping bag. He wanted Mary Ann to be well rested, so he did not sleep with her that night. All was well. At least they thought.
For some reason, their child was born, differently. He wasn't premature, just different. Neither of them noticed that something was off about their child at first. Maybe because the newborn was crying, or maybe because they were overjoyed their child was born. To this day, we will never know. But soon enough they will realize what they've missed. They will soon see his eyes. His left eye. His demon's eye.
Hey guys, sorry this is kind of short, and I'm sorry I'm starting a new story instead of updating my other ones. But I couldn't help it, it just popped into my head! Well, please tell me what you think in the Reviews!
