Nightmare. A Jacinter One-shot by Selene Blackburn
Blood. There was so much blood.
Crimson liquid dripped from the ceiling, running in rivulets down red smeared walls. A thick, copper scent filled the air. All around her, Winter heard the distant screams from a thousand throats. Begging her, please, please, Winter!
The voices of all the dead rose into a chanting roar. Winter cried out and stumbled across the blood-soaked carpet, raising shaky hands to cover her ears.
"No, please... I'm sorry! I'm so sorry..."
But the dead went on chanting, and the blood-their blood- kept pouring. They were calling for her now. Justice must be served. This is right, this is what she deserved. All those years of sitting and watching as her stepmother rinsed the grounds in their lifeblood. All those years of doing nothing, sitting frozen, a princess of ice alone on her throne. The people would have their justice.
Winter lifted her head to scream, but was suddenly choked by the scarlet water that poured down her throat. It covered her eyes and filled her lungs until she gasped for air. Winter clawed desperately at her throat and chest, tearing through the delicate fabric of her nightgown. Her chest heaved and her desperate movements slowed. Black spots filled her vision as the room started to break apart.
The dead were calling again. They screamed her name, "Winter, Winter! Please Winter, please wake up! Wake up, Winter..."
Winter awoke with a gasp. Sweet, clean air rushed into her lungs and she sagged with relief. She looked around, confused. Why was her room shaking? Was it another vision?
"Winter?!"
Winter looked down to find two strong white hands clasped her shoulders. That must have been the shaking.
"Winter?"
His voice was softer now.
"Jacin?"
Winter looked up and met his concerned gaze. His ice blue eyes met her chocolate brown, and he sobbed, an unexpected sound of relief.
"I thought- I thought I'd lost you- the visions-"
Jason let out another sob, and his body shook. Winter smiled gently and pulled him closer. Freely crying now, Jacin buried his face in the crook of her neck. Winter felt a few tears slide down past her scarred cheek and smiled down at the man in her arms. Usually she was the one to cry after a vision. Grinning through her tears, she leaned down and rested her dark head on his fair one.
And they said pregnancy made women emotional.
Greetings, friends!
Hey, my name is Selene Blackburn, and while I am not new to Fanfiction, this is my first ever published story and I would love some feedback.
This story is just a short one-shot between Jacin and Winter, but I may change this story to a multi-chapter one shot series. And maybe I'll bring in some more of our favorite characters to cheer up our angsty little friends. Until next time!
