"Forgot the Children"

Dark white surrounds me, reality a joke,
And what I perceive, all of it a hoax.
Every word I speak becomes a lie
And by the Wicked Game I am enthralled.

No evil is real, or so they tell me,
And for awhile I'll believe what I see.
But refuge loves terror, I cannot deny,
And the Laws of Nature I cannot bend.

Time loves lies, as I have learned,
And the tide with every second turns.
But they all tell me I will survive
And the Regret of Loss I may not mend.

Perfect exists, or so they like to pretend,
And I try my best to salvage the happy end.
But this is not a way to live
And the Painful Death I hope saves us all.
