Carson frowned as Dr. Weir, Dr. Zelenka, Dr. McKay, and Major Shepperd were wheeled into the infirmary. "What happened?" He asked Ford and Teyla, who were standing off in the corner.
"Well..." Ford gave Teyla a look that said clearly 'help me'. "Major Shepperd was trying telling Teyla about Easter...
"Thank you, but I have more important things to do than explain the concept of Easter," Rodney barely glanced at Major Shepperd, trying to ignore the hurt puppy dog expression on the Major's face.
"But she's our friend; how can you leave her without any knowledge of Easter bunnies and Easter eggs and Easter egg hunts?" Shepperd continued.
Rodney made the mistake of looking at him. Rodney had learned early on that few people could resist Major Shepperd's puppy dog look.
"...Okay," he sighed. He really needed to work up some kind of defense against that look.
"What is the Easter bunny?" Teyla asked Ford.
"Well, the Easter bunny supposedly goes around and hides eggs for an Easter egg hunt. The person who finds the most eggs wins," Ford answered patiently.
"I see. Could we, too, have an Easter egg hunt?" Teyla asked curiously.
Major Shepperd looked around at his team. "I don't see why not," he shrugged.
"An Easter egg hunt did that to them?" Carson asked disbelievingly. He was trying not to laugh. Really he was.
"I'm not finished," Ford answered.
"You want to have an Easter egg hunt?" Dr. Weir asked Major Shepperd.
"Sure. For the children. It'll be fun. What do you say?" Shepperd asked hopefully.
"All right," Dr. Weir sighed.
"Great!" Major Shepperd beamed at her. "We'll even let you help hide the eggs."
"One more egg left. Where should we put it?" Teyla asked.
"How about..." Major Shepperd turned around the room. "There," he said, pointing to a spot on an empty shelf.
"Very well," Teyla answered and attempted to put the egg on the shelf. "My arm is not long enough," she informed Shepperd.
Zelenka walked into the room. "What are you doing?" He asked, rather nervously.
"What are you doing here?" Shepperd asked.
"This is my lab," Zelenka pointed out.
"Oh yes, it is. In that case, could you help us get this egg on the shelf?" Shepperd suggested hopefully.
"Well, we've hidden all our eggs," Rodney, Ford, and Elizabeth walked into the room.
"What is everyone doing in my lab?" Zelenka demanded.
"You let us hide this one last egg, and we'll be out of your hair," Shepperd promised.
"All right," Zelenka sighed.
"...So when we put the egg on the shelf, the whole thing fell on us," Ford finished.
Carson made a sound that seemed suspiciously like a chuckle.
"Teyla and I were slightly too far away for the shelf to fall on us," Ford added, hoping to stop the doctor's laughing.
"That was... Interesting, to say the least," Carson answered, managing to gain and keep a straight face. "Now, if you'll excuse me..."
Carson walked to his small office off the infirmary as fast as he could. As he stepped inside the office, he heard a crunch and felt himself stepping into something gooey. He looked down to see what it was.
It was an Easter egg.
